In a property guide I came today to the page where it says: “WE PUT YOU FIRST.” We as Christians can learn from this. Can we say to the Lord Jesus Christ: “Lord, we put you first.”—Matthew 6:33

I saw this written on a tile today: “LOVE AS THOUGH YOU HAVE NEVER BEEN HURT BEFORE.”

When the Australian PM was campaigning last year he talked a lot about the “plan for Australia’ s future.” Also PM Helen Clark talked lately about the “best plan for the future.” I am quoting from yesterday’s NZ Herald: ” The important issue now is who has the best plan for the future. Labour will continue to roll out big and bold policies and will focus on our plan for the future.”– Actually in the article in the New Zealand Herald (04.03.08) the Australian PM talked 5 times about the future I counted and PM Helen Clark mentioned the future nine times.

The future is very much on the minds of the politicians. But who has the best plan for the FUTURE?

The BIBLE, the word of the Living God talks about the best plan. Read Jeremiah 29:11; Romans 8:38. In fact you should read the whole of Chapter 8.

The NIV has Future in Romans 8:38!

We seem to have ‘PARADISE‘ on our minds.– I have mentioned it several times here and today I saw it again in an advertisement: “Paradise cleaning services” with two palm trees. – It says also: ” Too busy too clean? Get us to the scene!” —I think I saw the word Paradise also on the shirt of a boy!

Why PARADISE? A longing for something lost long ago?

Some time ago I only saw one person standing there with arms stretched to the sky. Today there were maybe ten people, young and old, hands lifted up.

Two posters were strung from lamppost to lamppost with chinese writing on them. I went to sit on a bench nearby and a lady came to hand me a leaflet about Falun Dafa with the following writing on it:” Tranquil cultivation of the mind and soul. Cleanses the body and improves health. Clears the mind. Relieves stress. Suitable for all ages. The universal principals of Truthfulness, Compassion (Benevolence) and forbearance (Tolerance) are the foundation of the practice.”

What are we doing to proclaim the message of the CROSS to mankind?

What a challenge to do our best all the time!

My wife mentioned just now that there is a suggestion that we should not have so many sermons in the Church and she gave me a letter from the MAILBOX to read with the title: “Preaching revisited”. (Latest Baptist magazin called “Baptist”!)

I have to think about that some more! We need actually more good expository preaching in the Churches.
