I looked into the big window of the local book shop. When my eyes caught the big writing on some of the many greeting cards, I was immediately interested in what I read:

“TRUST IN YOURSELF”

“KEEP BELIEVING IN YOURSELF…”

Wrong teaching wrong living! But I have been taught correctly. The Bible says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;….” (Proverbs 3:5) The Bible says also, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved-you and your household.” (Acts 16:31)

Of course humanism is “the rejection of religion in favour of a belief in the advancement of humanity by its own efforts.” That’s what the Collins Concise Dictionary says.

When are we going to learn, that we are dependant beings and that God is the only one who is selfexistent?

“LIFE IS NOT MEASURED BY THE NUMBER OF BREATHS WE TAKE, BUT BY THE MOMENTS THAT TAKE OUR BREATH AWAY.”

I found this under the heading “On the lighter side” in a publication:

“It’s not the pace of life that concerns us, it’s the sudden stop at the end.”

And so it should! And it is not on the “lighter side” either. In the Bible, in the book of Hebrews, it says in Hebrews 9:27,28  “Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, ….”
