MY BOOKS!

I have a good number of books. In fact we have a lot of books in our home. At certain times there are books all over the place.

When I am working on something, I am taking books from the bookcase and don’t put them back where they belong – because I want to get on with my job.P1040110

As you can well imagine, after a number of days there are books all over the place, as mentioned before. And not only in one room.

It is time to put them back in order again!

Fortunately I have made a list of all my books long ago. All my books are listed according to authors. The list is neatly written and kept in a folder.

The list has helped me just now to put many, many  books back, where they belong and things look a little bit tidier now. The list saves also lots of time of course.

While I was getting order in my bookcase again, using the above mentioned list of authors as my guide, I was thinking about another guide for our whole life. It is not only a list, it is a whole book, the Bible, the Word of the Living God.

“It is a library of 66 books. The Old Testament contains 39 books and the New Testament contains 27, altogether 66 books,” I used to tell the children when teaching the Bible in the schools.

If you want order in your life, you must have the Bible as your guide.

Did you ever learn the ten commandments off by heart? They are recorded in the second book of the  Bible, called Exodus, Exodus 20:1-17. Exodus means “exit or “departure.”

Exodus 20:3 “You shall have no other gods before me.”

Exodus 20:4 “You shall not make for yourself an idol….”

Exodus 20:7 “You shall not misuse the name of the Lord…”

Exodus 20:8 “Remember the Sabbath day…”

Exodus 20:12 “Honor your father and your mother,…”

Exodus 20:13 “You shall not murder.”

Exodus 20:14 “You shall not commit adultery.”

Exodus 20:15 “You shall not steal.”

Exodus 20:16 ” You shall not give false testimony…”

Exodus 20:17

“You shall not covet your neighbours house. You shall not covet your neighbours  wife,….”

There is POWER in the WORD OF GOD  and I believe that if we would have the commandments every two hours on TV, it would change our whole nation!
