31 MAY WORLD SMOKEFREE DAY – POST 2000

YOUR BODY

First Corinthians 6:19,20

Introduction:

“Do you not know that your body

1. is a temple of the Holy Spirit,

a. who is in you,

b. whom you have received from God?

2. You are not your own;

3. you were bought at a price.

End:

Therefore honor God with your body.”

“Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you? If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him; for God’s temple is sacred, and you are that temple.”

First Corinthians 3:16,17

What drives you?

This picture was taken almost two years ago and does it not mean that what drives you is Caltex?

But what is driving us?

“TUESDAY 7 pm = DRIVEN BY ETERNITY STUDY” you can read on the notice board of one church here in Kaitaia. I like that.

Only today when I passed the meeting place of the congregation I noticed that the notice board was gone. The strong wind at the present time must have removed the board from the wall where it was fastened.

Are we driven by ETERNITY?

I still have to read the book by Rick Warren “The Purpose – Driven Life.” I have it here before me.

BIBLE + PRAYER = A CHANGED LIFE

BIBLE + PRAYER = A CHANGED LIFE.

I am reading that in a letter from Biblesinaction partnering with Bible League International, I received today.

That’s actually how it was in my life.

I have said it before that the Bible was always in  our house.  I have also said it before that my mother prayed for me.

BIBLE + PRAYER = A CHANGED LIFE.

Praise the Lord!

Solomon

I am reading the Bible, the Word of the Living God, from cover to cover and in my daily reading I arrived at the book of  First Kings.

In the first eleven chapters of  First Kings you find the story of  Solomon.

Intr.:

“As  Solomon grew old, his wives turned his heart after other gods,…” First Kings 11:4

In chapter eleven the Bible tells us that Solomon built a high place for Chemosh and Molech. Chemosh was the detestable god of Moab and Molech was the detestable god of the Ammonites. First Kings 11:7

The Bible says also:

“The Lord became angry with Solomon because his heart had turned away from the Lord,…” First Kings 11:9

ADVERSARIES AND A REBEL

A. Then the Lord raised up against Solomon an adversary,…” First Kings 11:14

His name was Hadad.  Hadad, an Edomite prince.

Read about him in First Kings 11:14-22

B. And God raised up against Solomon another adversary,…” First Kings 11:23

His name was Rezon. Rezon, the son of Eliada.

Read about him in First Kings 11:23-25

C. “Also, Jeroboam son of Nebat rebelled against the king.” First Kings 11:26

Jeroboam was an official of the King.

Read his whole story in First Kings 11:26-40

End:

The end of chapter 11 tells us:

“Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel forty years. Then  he rested…” First Kings 11:42,43
