At the top of page 19 of the magazine called  “Booknotes” (Issue 171, Summer 2011) I am reading in big letters

“BEDSIDE TABLE”.

In smaller print it says underneath:

“GREG McGEE considers the thrillers among his recent night – table readings,…”

What are your recent night – table readings? Please let me know!

“SEARCHING THE BOOKSHELVES”

The table of contents (Booknotes, Issue 171, Summer 2011)  has “Searching the bookshelves” on page 11 and page 14.

On page eleven I am reading that one lady has more than 1000  food books in her library. It’s all about food writing and she  selects favourites from her library. On page 14 it’s all about war stories and it says that “the effects of war have fascinated many fine writers.”

I would like to come to your place and search your bookshelves.  I would search for a Bible!

Do you have at least one BIBLE on your bookshelves?

At the beginning I mentioned the lady who had more than 1000 food books in her library. Yes, we need food for our bodies – but we have also need of spiritual food, and we find spiritual food in the BIBLE, the Word of the Living God!
