MY GET READY SHOPPING LIST
MY GET READY SHOPPING LIST
I am glad that it says at the very end of the list:
OTHER ITEMS YOU MAY NEED:
BIBLE!
Seven reasons why some do not read the Word of God
1. Ignorant of its truths.
2. Already eaten–feeding on ashes, Isaiah 44:20.
3. Sickness; a sin-sick soul has no appetite for the Word of God.
4. Lunching between meals.
5. The book lacks flavour for some.
6. The book is too sweet, Revelation 10:8-10.
7. The book is too bitter, Revelation 10:8-10.

The Bible answers Three Questions:
Sermon Outline
James 5:13,14
“Is any one of you in trouble?
He should pray.
Is anyone happy?
Let him sing songs of praise.
Is any one of you sick?
He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord.”

“She ate all she wanted and had some left over.” – Ruth 2:14
Grief and Love
“My grandmother once said that grief is the price we pay for love. Here, today, we love and we grieve.” – Prince William at the national memorial service for the victims of the Christchurch earthquake.
“BUILDING ON SHAKY GROUND”
“BUILDING ON SHAKY GROUND”
I am reading in large print on page A 20 in the paper. (Saturday, March 19, 2011 Weekend Herald)
It’s all about the damage the earthquake caused in Christchurch, the structural problems and the liquefaction ground. In the paper I read, “Engineers say what is needed is foundations which can move with the shake.”
In Luke chapter six at the end we are reading about the Wise Builder and the Foolish Builder. (Luke 6:46-49)
The Wise Builder does three things:
1. He comes to the Lord Jesus Christ.
2. He hears the Word of the Lord.
3. He puts the Words of the Lord into practice.
The Lord Jesus Christ is our rock.
David says in Psalm 18:2 “The Lord is my rock,..” Read also: Psalm 19:14; Psalm 40:2; Psalm 61:2; Psalm 92:15.
Are you familiar with the hymn “Rock of ages, cleft for me,…” by Augustus M. Toplady?
Here is the first verse:
“Rock of ages, cleft for me, let me hide myself in Thee;
let the water and the blood, from Thy wounded side which flowed,
be of sin the double cure, save from wrath and make me pure.”
The apostle Paul says in his first letter to the church at Corinth:
“FOR NO ONE CAN LAY ANY FOUNDATION OTHER THAN THE ONE ALREADY LAID WHICH IS JESUS CHRIST.”
First Corinthians 3:11
