Pastor Minegishi in the Middle.

When pastor Minegishi arrived at the place where once his church and his dwelling was, he saw the collection of transparencies with the church hymns lying in the dirt. He picked them up  and to the amazement of all present he  began with a loud voice to praise the Lord.

That reminds me of the apostle Paul in  prison and King Jehoshaphat, when the enemy came to fight him.

Read about the apostle Paul in Acts 16:16-40!

Read about Jehoshaphat in Second Chronicles 20:1-30!

ZEAL FOR SOULS

ZEAL FOR SOULS

While in Auckland not long ago I attended the NEW LYNN Salvation Army Corps Sunday Worship Service at 10am, and I have here the New Lynn Notable News  from Sunday April 10, 2011 before me. On the front page it says:

“JESUS…. WOULD RATHER GO TO HELL FOR YOU, THAN GO TO HEAVEN WITHOUT YOU.”

The Lord Jesus Christ has always open eyes for the ripe harvest on the fields. His desire is to make us fishers of men.

MOSES had a zeal for souls. He was a soul-winner.

Moses knew that God had written a book. Moses knew also that his name was written  in that book.

Now the people had sinned. They had made the Golden Calf. They had made gods of gold. Moses asked God to forgive their sin. He even asked to be blotted out of the book the Lord had written, if the people could not be forgiven.

PAUL had also a zeal for souls. And what a soul-winner he was.

He was willing to be cursed and cut off from the Lord for the sake of his brethren. His heart was full of anguish and sorrow. He felt deeply for his own race. He wanted the Israealites to come to the Saviour. He prayed for them.

Paul was a free man. He belonged to no man, but he made himself a slave  to everyone. His desire was to win as many for Christ as possible.

What about ME ? Do I have zeal for souls? Am I a soul-winner? What about YOU?

People who are winning souls are wise people. Those who lead many to righteousness will shine like stars.
