Books!
I think Jeremy Collier is right when he says,
“Books support us in our solitude and keep us from being a burden to ourselves.”
DO YOU ALSO FIND TELEVISION TO BE VERY EDUCATING?
Do you also find television to be very educating?
Groucho Marx says:
“I find television to be very educating. Every time somebody turns on the set, I go in the other room and read a book.”
I am wondering what would happen, if more people would follow his example?
What if all the people who call themselves Christians would go in the other room and read the Bible? What if all the true followers of the Lord Jesus Christ would go in the other room and read their Bible?
I rather read books than watch televison. Reading is one of my hobbies.
There is no television set in our house. I don’t need to go in the other room to read books or my Bible!
“MY OWN WAY”
“MAKE…….”
“Make it a rule never to give a child a book you would not read yourself.” – George Bernard Shaw
Our Soul
I am reading here that Edgar Allan Poe was one of the great writers of the past. And here are his famous reported last words:
“Lord, help my poor soul.”
Compare those last words with the chorus of the hymn “When peace like a river attends all my way,…” by Horatio G. Spafford:
“It is well (It is well), with my soul (with my soul),
It is well, it is well with my soul!”
He lived from 1828 – 1888.
The music for the hymns “When peace like a river…” is by Philip P. Bliss who lived from 1838-1876
Sermon Outline OT (NIV)
“For I resolved
to know nothing
while I was with you
except Jesus Christ and him
crucified.”
First Corinthians 2:2

Isaiah 53:6
Intr.:
like sheep,
(Straying, sought, kept, called, purchased, hearkening and loved sheep.)
1. have gone astray,
each of us
2. has turned to his own way;
End:
and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.”
TORNADO!
TORNADO!
A tornado struck ALBANY, the northern part of Auckland/NZ yesterday!
An image in the paper, THE NEW ZEALAND HERALD, shows a trampoline on the roof of a house and on another image you can see an overturned battered car.
But what really surprised me was that somebody called the tornado a pure act of God.
Amos 3:6
