“…………….., ENCOURAGE THE TIMID,……” (SERMON OUTLINE – NT)

“……, ENCOURAGE THE TIMID,…”

We were stuck, sitting in the car and waiting for the service to finish.

We had left the church service earlier to go home only to find our car surrounded by other vehicles.

There was no way out unless driving over the footpath and grass, and that’s what we did not want to do.

A lady I know came along and seeing our problem “ENCOURAGED THE TIMID” with these words, “You can get out here, the grass is pretty firm!”

And that’s what we did!

“……, ENCOURAGE THE TIMID,….”

First Thessalonians 5:14

“AND WE URGE YOU,

Intr.:

brothers,

******************

1. warn those who are idle,

2. ENCOURAGE THE TIMID,

3. help the weak,

4. be patient with everyone.”

End:

“Neighbourhood Support”

In my reading of the Bible from cover to cover I read in Job 31:4 not long ago:

“Does he not see my ways and

count my every step?”

In our local phone book I noticed a pageĀ  advertising “Neighbourhood Support.”

“Neighbourhood Support is a community initiative working to: Create Safer Communities.”

I am asking myself:

What does create safer communities?

What does create more caring communities?

What reduces the incidents of criminal offending?

What reduces the effects of criminal offending?

What strengthens communities’ networks?

What improves quality of life?

I am reading again:

“DOES HE NOT SEE MY WAYS AND

COUNT MY EVERY STEP?”
