Can I encourage you to read the BIBLE online?

Today is another significant event in my life.

I hope I can encourage you:

Once a year I am trying to read the BIBLE from cover to cover, beginning on the first of January each year.

Today is the twentyfirst of September and I have finished the Old Testament and I am on page 1496.

I hope to finish reading the New Testament before this year is finished.

The BIBLE I am reading at the present time has 1939 pages.  

Okaihau

Okaihau is not very far from KAIKOHE, where we used to live for a long time. We are now living in KAITAIA, and the shortest way from Auckland to KAITAIA is via OKAIHAU.

The KIWI (New Zealand) eye surgeon Fred Hollows, who lived from 1929-1993 said, “I believe that the basic attribute of mankind is to look after each other.”

PHYSICAL BLINDNESS

He saw the physical blindness and did something about it!

In THE FRED HOLLOWS FOUNDATION NZ advertisement I am reading: “Globally, Foundation-trained eye doctors have restored sight to over one million people.”

SPIRITUAL BLINDNESS

Missionaries see the Spiritual Blindness and do something about it!

We are blind sinners. In his book 1000 NEW BIBLE READINGS  Dr.  F. E. Marsh points out that we are naturally

blind to our condition before God – Romans 3:11,

blind to the beauty of the Lord Jesus Christ – Isaiah 53:1,

blind to the grace of God – Romans 11:8,

blind to the things of the Lord – First Corinthians 2:9-14,

blind to the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ – Revelation 3:18,19,

to buy from me

gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and

white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and

salve to put on your eyes, so you can see.” – Revelation 3:18)

blind to the need of the new birth – John 3:3-7,

blind to the evil around us – Ephesians 2:2,3.

WHAT DO YOU SEE AND WHAT ARE YOU DOING ABOUT IT? I SAW THE SPIRITUAL BLINDNESS IN THE WORLD – AND STILL SEE IT – AND WENT AS A MISSIONARY TO THAILAND WHEN I WAS YOUNG!
