Northland forecast for today:

DEATH: The Remedy

There is not only physical death, there is also spiritual death. Both are the direct result of SIN.

The BIBLE says that “it is appointed unto men once to die”.

GRAVEYARD: PLEASE NOTICE THE CROSS IN THE SKY

Where do we find the true remedy? What is the cure for spiritual death? By believing on the Lord Jesus Christ spiritual death is cured. The Lord says in John 5:24:

“‘I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.”

Has the Holy Spirit worked the miracle of regeneration in your life? Has he transformed you into a child of God?

When I was eighteen years of age I had a second birthday, I began a new life, I passed from darkness to light. Now I belong to the family of God. I know that I am going to heaven when I am going to die. I can only say, “Praise the Lord!”

There is no doubt at all that death is certain, but I am not so sure about taxes.There are loopholes in the tax law. There are people who do not make enough money. That are two reasons why some people manage to avoid paying tax at all.

It is always encouraging to find a verse from the Bible in every issue on the last page of our local paper, THE NORTHLAND AGE.

Not long ago I came to Psalm 41 in my reading of the Bible from cover to cover and it came to me that the first three verses of Psalm 41 are actually a very good sermon outline. In order to find out what the Holy Spirit has taught other servants of the Lord about the first verses of the Psalm, I looked up some devotional books.

“Literacy is the key to understanding”

Not neglecting my commentaries on the Bible I came to the Concise Commentary on the Whole Bible by Matthew Henry and Thomas Scott. But it was really disappointing to find out that the Psalms had Roman numerals. I am somewhat familiar with Roman numerals, but I like Arabic numerals better. Fortunately we have many books in our house and in one I find  the Roman numerals. (Pears Cyclopaedia   78th Edition)
