3.  preserve his life;

THE CROSS

THE CROSS

“‘THE LAMP OF THE WICKED IS SNUFFED OUT;

Job 18:5-21

PART ONE

Intr.:

1.  the flame of his fire stops burning.

2.  The light in his tent becomes dark;

3.  the lamp beside him goes out.

4. The vigor of his step is weakened;

5. his own schemes throw him down.

6.  His feet thrust him into a net and he wanders into its mesh.

7.  A trap seized him by the heel;

8.  a snare holds him fast.

 9. A noose is hidden for him on the ground;

10 a trap lies in his path.

PART TWO

11. Terrors startle him on every side and dog his every step.

12. Calamity is hungry for him;

13. disaster is ready for him when he falls.

14. It eats away parts of his skin;

15. death’s firstborn devours his limbs.

16. He is torn from the security of his tent and

17. marched off to the king of terrors.

18. Fire resides in his tent;

19. burning sulfur  is scattered over his dwelling.

20. His roots dry up below and

29. men of the east are seized with horror.

Surely such is the dwelling of an evil man;

such is the place of one who knows not God.'”

The Meeting on the Street …

The meeting on Kitchener Street today lasted for quite some time and was all about the Gospel.

Ktchener Street

KITCHENER STREET

The Gospel “is the power of God for salvation of everyone who believes: …”

There were only three people standing on the footpath. The two listeners came from Utah and California in the United States of America. They were Mormon missionaries, members  of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, founded in 1830 in New York by Joseph Smith.

“LIFE IS ONE UPWARD STRUGGLE!”

“LIFE IS ONE UPWARD STRUGGLE!”

All of us are involved in the struggle. Read what the apostle Paul writes to the saints in Ephesus, to the believers who are in Christ Jesus: He writes in the last chapter of his letter,

“For our struggle

"Life is an upward struggle!"

“Life is one upward struggle!”

A.  is NOT

against

1. flesh and

2. blood,

B.  BUT

1. against the rulers,

2.  against the authorities,

3.  against the powers of this dark world and

4.  against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

Followers of the Lord Jesus Christ are told to put on “THE WHOLE ARMOR OF GOD”.

The whole armor consists of seven parts and here they are: 1. Girdle of truth. 2. Breastplate of righteousness. 3. Shoes of readiness  to bear the gospel. 4. Shield of faith. 5. Helmet of salvation. 6. Sword of the Word. 7. Prayer.

“Worrying …”

“Worrying won’t

STOP

STOP

 the bad stuff from happening,

it just

STOPS

you from enjoying the good.”

This was written on a blackboard I saw today! The blackboard was standing on the footpath of our main road here in Kaitaia in front of a hairdresser’s establishment.
