INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN’S DAY

INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN’S DAY

Sunday 2 March

“Children’s Day in Whangarei is all about fun and Families!” I am reading in the publication called ENDLESS SUMMER FESTIVAL produced by the Whangarei District Council.

We rejoice when we see members of a family having fun together.

But there are members of families who don’t have fun together, they don’t even stay together.

Those families are lacking something.

Please type “Family Violence” and “Domestic Violence” into the SEARCH box on this blog and read the posts! There are quite a few and then come back to this post.

Years ago in London I passed a phone box at a Mission HQ and I heard a voice from the inside  saying “All you need is Jesus.”

Families are not staying together, because they are lacking the relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.

This is a verse in the Bible I really love:

“He is before all things and in him all things hold together.”

CHILDREN’S DAY

"Treasure our CHILDREN"

“Treasure our CHILDREN”

Children’s Day

Sunday 2nd March 2014

My work enabled me to spend a lot of time with our children when they were small. And that’s what I did. Sometimes I think I spent too much time with them.

“Treasure time with your kids,” and “The best thing you can spend on your kids is time,” I am reading in THE WAREHOUSE weekly mailer this afternoon. (Issue 31 valid Wednesday 26/02/14 – Tuesday 04/03/14)

But the truth is that we cannot spend too much time with our children. Many, many years have gone by now but I still treasure the memories.

“STOKED”

I am also excited and encouraged that …

“Of course, the one thing that never changes is we’re stoked you’re with us,” finishes a postcard from the team at Telecom announcing a name change. From the middle of this year the name is SPARK.

The Post Card From Telecom

I looked up “stoke” in the Collins English Dictionary and one of the definitions says, “to excite or encourage (a strong emotion) in oneself or someone else [from STOKE].

How good it is to read that the team at Telecom (telecommunications) is excited that I am with them. How good it is to hear that they are encouraged that I am with them.

“‘And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age,'” is the last sentence of the gospel of Matthew and the speaker is the Lord Jesus Christ. (Matthew 28:20)

I am very excited and encouraged that the Lord Jesus Christ is with me “‘ALWAYS and to the VERY END OF THE AGE.'”

What more do I want?

“STICKING”

“Thanks for sticking with Contact,” is the last sentence in the letter I received today from Contact Energy Limited. Contact Energy Limited is supplying us with power. (Electricity)

Proverbs 18:24 tells us that “there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.”

In the Bible we are reading also about the Friendship of the Lord Jesus Christ.

In John 15:15, (easy to remember) the Lord Jesus Christ says,

“I have called you friends, for everything that I have learned from my Father I have made known to you.”

Contact Energy Limited  is thanking me for sticking with them, but I am thanking the Lord Jesus Christ for sticking with me – already for more than 50 Years.

Prayer is the most tangible trace of eternity in the human heart. Intercessory prayer on behalf of the felt needs of the lost is the best way to open their eyes to the light of the gospel. – Ed Silvoso
