“BEST-INFORMED”

“Use a Collins dictionary, and be one of the best-informed language users in the world,” I am reading today on the back cover of my Collins English Dictionary, I have had already for quite some time.

And this is what I want to say to you, “Use a BIBLE, and be one of the best-informed readers in the world.

THE OPEN BIBLE

THE OPEN BIBLE

In the BIBLE you find all the INFORMATION you ever need. The Bible is “THE BOOK OF BOOKS.”

The Bible has information about God the Father.

The Bible has information about God the Son.

The Bible informs us also about God the Holy Spirit.

The Bible informs us also about the Bible.

We find also all the information about man and creation in the Word of God.

The Bible has information about Angels an Satan.

And most of all the Bible informs us about our SALVATION.

It is a great joy for me to read in the Bible about the subjects of justification, the new birth, adoption, faith, repentance, forgiveness and more!

The truth is, that in the BIBLE is all the INFORMATION people ever needed in the PAST, people ever need at the PRESENT, and people will ever need in the FUTURE. The BIBLE is “THE BOOK OF BOOKS”.

SUICIDE

“Ribbon Riders shine a light on suicide,” is an article called on the front page of our local paper, THE NORTHLAND AGE. (Thursday, February 27, 2014)

The suicide rate in New Zealand is very high.

In 2013 there were more than 540 suicides in New Zealand from the age of ten to seventy five.

Eighty per cent of those were Maori and eighty per cent were teenagers. Here where I live in the north of New Zealand the suicide rate was the highest last year.

Reading  the article “Ribbon Riders shine a light on suicide,” challenges me even more to shine the light of the Gospel.

In John 8:12 the Lord Jesus Christ says, “I am the light of the world.” And in Matthew 5:16 we read, “In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.”

“STILL RESTLESS”

werner-150x150-e1367980712224“Still Restless,”  was written on the front of the camper van I saw today parked on Commerce Street here in Kaitaia. It looked to me as if the two occupants were just about to take off again.

In Psalm 62 at the  beginning David says several things:

He says that he will never be shaken.

He says also that God is his fortress.

God alone is also his rock.

He says also that his salvation comes from God and that God alone is his salvation.

HE SAYS ALSO THAT HIS SOUL FINDS REST IN GOD ALONE.

I was right, the two elderly people in the camper van were waiting for an opportunity to pull out of the parking lot to continue their journey.

I did not tell them were they can find rest, but I can pray for them. I am wondering if anyone has ever told them that their soul can only find rest in God alone.
