“Work hard and do good!”

“Work hard and do good!” was written on the blackboard.

The blackboard was standing in front of a shop on one end of the main street in Kaikohe. I saw it yesterday while attending a funeral. (It is about a little bit more than an hour from Kaitaia to Kaikohe by car.)

We have also a Bakehouse Cafe in KAITAIA

About on the other end of the main street is the Kaikohe Bakehouse Cafe and this is what I read in the newspaper about the Cafe before going to Kaikohe for the funeral:

The Bakels competition is nationwide and a baker of Kaikohe Bakehouse Cafe won a silver award in the pie contest. The name of the baker is Sam Jamba and he is from Thailand.

We used to work in Thailand as missionaries feeding the people with spiritual food and now the Thais are coming to New Zealand and feeding us with food for our bodies.

When I came back from the funeral I read the article called “Kaikohe baker goes silver in pie contest” in the paper again really thoroughly and this time I noticed also that it says there that the baker worked quite hard to win the contest.

And yes, while in Kaikohe yesterday, I did not only have a big cup of coffee at the Kaikohe Bakehouse Cafe, but also one of those  silver award pies.
