The Bible tells believers in the Lord Jesus Christ to reflect (sparkle) spiritual light.
1. In Judges 5:31 Deborah and Barak are singing a song about those who love the Lord. Their desire is to see them strong as the sunrise.
2. In Matthew 5:14 the Lord himself says to us that we believers are the light of the world.
3. Acts 13:47 tells us the story of Paul and Barnabas. The Lord has made Paul and Barnabas a light for the Gentiles. Their duty is to tell the whole world about the Lord Jesus Christ.
4. In his letter to the Ephesians (Ephesians 5:8), the apostle Paul reminds the Ephesians that they were once darkness but that they are now light. They were once children of darkness, but now they are children of light. What is the fruit of light? It consists of
a. all goodness,
b. righteousness and
c. truth.
5. This generation is crooked. This generation is depraved. We are to shine like stars in this crooked and depraved generation. How can we do that? We must become
a. blameless,
b. pure and
c. without fault (Philippians 2:15).
