STARTING YOUR DAY

werner-150x150-e1367980712224“Start your day right!” it says on the McDonald’s takeaway bag, I was given today.

Reading that reminds me not only of the food for the body (sometimes breakfast at McDonald’s), but also of the food for the soul.

True followers of the Lord Jesus Christ starting the day with Reading the Bible and Praying.

Reading the Scriptures in the MORNING:

Read the Bible from cover to cover and look for Golden Nuggets, for precious promises.

I found this morning this Golden Nugget:

“Do not withhold discipline from a child; if you punish him with the rod, he will not die.” (Proverbs 23:13)

Please read also the next verse, Proverbs 23:14.

Praying in the MORNING:

Talk to God like a father, He understands.

“Hem your day with prayer and it will be less likely to unravel,” I read some time ago.

I say, hem your day with Prayer and Bible reading in the Morning and it will be less likely to unravel.

And then you will also be able to tell others about what the Lord Jesus Christ has done in your life during the day.

“How much can you drink now?”

Great men about ALCOHOL:

Abraham Lincoln, “A cancer in human society, eating out its vitals and threatening its destruction.”

President Taft, “He who drinks is deliberately disqualifying himself for administration.”

Saturday, November 15, 2014 Weekend Herald

General Pershing, “Drunkenness has killed more men than all of history’s wars.”

Sir Wilfred Lawson, “The devil in solution.”
