DO NOT BECOME SILENT
“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter,” is a quote to live by, by Martin Luther King Jr .
I don’t know about the things that matter to you, but I really know about the things that matter to me.
To me God’s Plan of SALVATION matters and the things that are connected with God’s Plan of Salvation. Many things are connected with that plan, Justification, the New Birth, Faith, Repentance, Forgiveness, Soul Winning, Missionary Motives, Missionary Challenge and more.
I love the subject Soul Winning, but let us dwell for a moment on the Missionary Challenge.
There are wrong missionary objectives, but here are two right missionary objectives, namely doing what the Lord Jesus Christ commands in Matthew 28:19 and a passion for souls of men.
There are also missionary motives, and one is love. We serve the Lord Jesus Christ, because we are constrained by His love.
And what is the aim of missions?
It is to make the Lord Jesus Christ known to all men as the Saviour from sin.
What about the requirements of missionary candidates?
A missionary candidate must be born again. In John chapter three the Lord Jesus Christ has a conversation with Nicodemus. The candidate must be able to say: “Once I was in darkness, but now I have the light of the Lord Jesus Christ.”
Dr Lena Madison Phillips, who lived from 1881 – 1955 said, “Make no small plans – they have no power to stir the blood!”
For me the Plan of God’s Salvation is the most powerful plan to be involved in – originating before the creation of the world (Ephesians 1:11 and Ephesians 1:4) – and I hope that I never become silent about God, my Saviour.
