ROLE MODELS

“Aspires to be like dad,” it says in the Northern News, June 8, 2016.

In the feature called “Look who’s talking,” people of the community are asked questions.

The above is part of the answer to the question, “Who is the Kiwi you most admire?” given by the 2016 head girl of Northland College. (For those who don’t know “Kiwis” are New Zealanders). The full answer is, “My father, he is a very kind and humble man. He was always supportive of people and a great role model for children and adults. I want to aspire to be like him.”

The Bible tells us also about great role models

Paul, the Apostle, tells the Ephesians to be imitators of God.

When writing to the Thessalonians he says that he made himself a model for them to follow.

Footsteps to follow

He says also that the Thessalonians became imitators of him and the Lord and that they became a role model to all the believers in Macedonia and Achaia.

Just as the 2016 head girl of Northland College follows the great role model of her father, we as children of God imitating our heavenly Father as the Apostle Paul tells the Ephesians to do.

Are we great role models to follow?
