NOT YET – YET

At the beach

“Now Samuel did not yet know the LORD: The word of the LORD had not yet been revealed to him.” (First Samuel 3:7)

Just now I have been reading about Samuel in the Bible

In First Samuel 3:7 we read that he had a “not yet time” and a “yet time.”

I have also had a “not yet time” and a “yet” time.”

There was also a time in my life when I did not know the Lord Jesus Christ. There was also a time in my life when I did not understand the Bible.

But there came a time when I got to know the Lord Jesus Christ. When that happened the Bible became alive for me.

Notice also that it is by revelation. “‘Who do you say I am?'” the Lord Jesus Christ asked his disciples one day. And what did the Lord reply when Peter answered, “‘You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.'” The Lord replied, “‘this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven.”‘ (Matthew 16:13-20)

Just as there was  a “not yet time” and a “yet time” for Samuel there must also be a “not yet time” and “a yet time” for you.

In John 17:3 the Lord Jesus Christ says, “Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.”
