“See what we can do with your memories”

I saw the poster today on the wall in the photoshop , when I picked up my 1000 Anzac fliers. ( The fliers will be distributed before Anzac Day)

There are good memories and bad memories. The good memories are alright. We don’t mind talking about them. Maybe all of us do have a socalled ‘Dreaming Place’. My dreaming place is Tauranga Bay here in Northland with lots of memories. It is still very much like nature made it. Unfortunately I don’t have any pictures.

But what about our bad memories? When our conscience is accusing us? We don’t know what to do with those memories and nobody else does either. You cannot forget them either.

Who can deal with those bad memories?. We want them blotted out, do we not? Only the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ can blot out our bad memories. First John 1:7. Thank God, that there is a remedy.

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY OUT?

I read a very interesting quote by R. Frost today,” The best way out is always through.”

This quote reminds me of a portion of Scripture in the book of Isaiah, Isaiah 43:1-3. In verse two we come across the word through three times, “through the waters, through the rivers, through the fire.”

When we pass through the waters, the Lord will be with us. When we pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over us. When we pass through the fire, we will not be burned and the flames will not set us ablaze.

In Hebrews 12:1-13 we read about “God disciplines His Sons.” No discipline seems pleasant.

We feel the water is almost over our heads. We feel the river sweeping over us. We feel the heat of the fire. But read what it says in Hebrews 12:11.

ATTITUDES

ATTITUDE IS A LITTLE THING THAT MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE.

Because of jealousy we have the tendency to cut down those who are seen as more successful. (There are many ways of doing that of course!)

We may start to feel threatened by them.

We have a wrong attitude, if we resent those, who go for the best. We must change our attitude!

Only a small thing? (Not for me!)

Only a small thing? (Not for me!)

It is a beautiful day and I am looking through the window panes of the ranchslider door. I can see two palm trees, not too big and not too small. They were actually here when we bought the place.

Many years ago– at another place– I had the desire to plant some palm trres. I thought, that would be really something. But I never did. All of a sudden Psalm 37:4 came to my mind again: Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. And I have always said, that the Lord is giving us more than we ask for. He is good.

Look at the two beautiful palm trees in front of our house. Praise the Lord!

PS: That is one of the trees!

Another GOLDEN NUGGET (Revelation 12:11)

During our time in Kaikohe we had the visit from a missionary who had been in Africa (Congo) for 40 years. There was also revival while he was there! He prayed , before he left. But before he prayed he read from the book of REVELATION. Revelation 12:11! Click on the verse and read! I think I will always remember that occasion. He is now with the Lord!

ONLY A STICKER! (?)

He parked his car in front of the court house in Kaikohe, got out of the car and while we were both crossing the street, I called after him,” Sir, are you a Christian?” His answer was in the affirmative. I inquired further,”How do I know, that you are a Christian? Have a guess!” He replied,” I don’t know off hand.” I saw in his face that he was bit at a loss for an answer.

As this man was a complete stranger to me, I did not want to keep him in suspense unnecessarily and said to him,” I know, because you have an ALPHA sticker on the back of your car.”

Most of you, I am sure, are familiar with the ALPHA Course run by Churches. One man I knew ran an Alpha-Course and people came to the Lord !

But back to the man in front of the court house. As we went along the foot path a bright smile came to his face. He was a middle- aged man. A very pleasant man indeed. He was from out of town (Kerikeri). I suspected already, that he was not from Kaikohe.

Further I asked him, “Are you really born again?” “Yes,” was his quick reply. I gave him a clap on his right shoulder and said,” Praise the Lord!” We both kept on walking and smiling and then parted company. I think he had business at the court house and I went along on my way to the Ware House in Kaikohe.

“SURE STEP PAVERS”

Another notice advertises pavers: They are ideal for pathways, patios and poolside. They are non-skid. They come in different sizes. The cost is also given of course. Prices from $3-$6. You get also assistance with design. And the specialty of the producers are custom jobs. And you can do it yourself or you can get them delivered and placed.

We surely need Sure Step Pavers for our walk to heaven. In fact in Hebrews 12:13 we are commanded to “make level paths for your feet.” And Proverbs 4:26 says “and take only ways that are firm.”

The Sure Step Pavers on our path to heaven are the promises of the Bible. The promises of the Bible are making our paths level and our ways firm. They are making our way non-skid. They are coming in different sizes. They are custom made especially for us.

The Sure Step Pavers made by the factory above are from $3 to $6, but the promises of the Bible are delivered FREE by the Lord God and placed into our hearts.

Are you ‘walking’ on the promises of God?
