Water Carriers!

“I won’t believe that you have tasted of the honey of the gospel if you can eat it all yourself.” That’s what C. H. Spurgeon is writing this morning in his book Morning and Evening  (Daily Readings). The text is John 1:41 and he writes also: “As soon as one has found Christ, one begins to find others.”

With other words we are Water Carriers!

The Lord Jesus Christ wants to give us living water. But we need to ask him.

Are you thirsty? Go to the Lord Jesus Christ and drink. The Lord Jesus Christ says also that streams of living water will flow from within those who believe in him as the Bible has said.

Have you tasted of the honey of the Gospel?

Are you a water carrier?

“We’ve got you covered”, I am reading with great surprise on a small plastic bottle containing SPF 30 sunscreen. The sunscreen is manufactured in NZ and is available from suppliers of promotional products.

A poster at the Flight Centre says also “We’ve got you covered”.

“When your world is turned upside down……

We’ve got you covered

Travel insurance, essential for any holiday”

Are you thankful for the manufacturers of sunscreen, and that you can cover yourself with sunscreen, before going out into the sun? Are you thankful for Travel insurance, and that the Flight Centre says “We’ve got you covered”? Maybe you should.

Let me tell you what I am thankful for.

I AM THANKFUL FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART TO THE LORD, THAT HE HAS COVERED ALL MY SINS.

Listen to what it says in Psalm 85:1,2:

The blood of the Lord Jesus Christ has covered my sins. We cannot cover sin by any good deeds of our own.

The blood of the Lord Jesus Christ has two cries: It cries either for your condemnation; or it cries for your salvation. You can accept the blood of Christ or you can reject it.  Rejection means condemnation, acceptance means pardon and peace.

Psychiatrists are  concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders. Modern psychiatrists are telling us that one of the basic needs of humans is security.

One of the big questions is of course CAN A BELIEVER EVER BE LOST? I am very much interested in the eternal security of the believer.

I am a Christian. I am a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. I know the love of Christ. I know that I am justified by faith.

Once I was a poor sinner. But I have been regenerated by the Word and the Spirit of God. I have received new life and a new nature. I have been made partaker of the divine nature. I have been justified from  every charge  before the throne of God.

Can a believer ever be lost?

The Bible, the Word of the Living God, puts it this way:

“WHO SHALL SEPARATE US FROM THE LOVE OF CHRIST?”  Romans 8:35

And here is the inspired answer:

Romans 8:38,39

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able  to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Believers in the Lord Jesus Christ are pretty save. I am pretty save.
