One book you pick up and don’t put down in a hurry is the book:
WHEN A NATION FORGETS GOD
7 Lessons we must learn from Nazi Germany
by
Dr. Erwin W. Lutzer
CONTENTS: 1. When God is separated from government, judgment follows. 2. It’s always the economy. 3. That which is legal, might also be evil. 4. Propaganda can change a nation. 5. Parents-not the state-are responsible for a child’s training. 6. Ordinary heroes can make a difference. 7. We must exalt the Cross in the gathering of darkness.
“It is better to fail in a cause that will ultimately succeed, than to succeed in a cause that will ultimately fail.” – Peter Marshall
Bill Gates has written a book with the title “The road ahead”.
“To know the road ahead, ask those coming back”, is a short Chinese proverb.
I don’t need to tell you that the road ahead is into the ……. grave. You know that already, and I know also that you don’t want to hear about it. But please keep on reading what the hymn writer Robert Lowry says about the Lord Jesus Christ in the hymn CHRIST AROSE, which he wrote and composed in 1874. In the chorus he says:
“Up from the grave He arose, with a mighty triumph over his foes; He arose a Victor from the dark domain, and He lives forever with His saints to reign: He arose! He arose! Hallelujah! Christ arose!”
Read the chorus again and notice especially the words “He lives” and also the exclamation marks.
How do we know that the Lord Jesus Christ lives?
The author and composer Alred H. Ackley is answering that question in his hymn HE LIVES. The chorus of that hymn goes like this:
“He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today! He walks with me and talks with me along life’s narrow way. He lives, He lives, salvation to impart! You ask me how I know He lives? He lives within my heart.”
“SALVATION IS FREE BUT NOT CHEAP.”
“If Jesus Christ be God an died for me, then no sacrifice can be too great for me to make for Him.” – C.T. Studd
“GOD
Intr.:
–is our refuge and
–strength,
–an ever-present help in trouble.

Therefore we will not fear,
1. though the earth give way and
2. the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
3. though its waters roar and foam and
4. the mountains quake with their surging.”

I am reading the Bible from cover to cover and this morning I came to Psalm 46.
Finished just now reading the book: “BIBLE AND TREATY, Missionaries among the Maori- A new perspective.” by Keith Newman.
I think everybody living in New Zealand should read it, especially the last chapter called “Hope deferred: Between two books.”
