Deborah was a Mother in Isreal!
Judges 5:7
“Village life in Israel ceased, ceased until I, Deborah, arose, arose a mother in Israel!”
It is very difficult to help people who are under stress. I am reading in an autobiography that the writer was told by his wife to rest, but he did not see it at all.
He writes:
— The more I needed a rest, the more I worked. That is a very strange thing!
— I even imagined that they could not manage without me.
— Sometimes I imagined that I was resting – but my mind was working faster than ever.
In His time the Lord put up his Stop Sign. On the stop sign was written:
YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE A TERRIBLE CAR ACCIDENT AND YOU AND YOUR WIFE WILL BE IN HOSPITAL FOR A VERY LONG TIME.
After the accident the writer received a letter from a friend:
— I have been worried about you.
— You have been under terrible stress.– The Lord says, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.” Mark 6:31
— The Lord in his love has given you a break.
Matthew 9:37,38 was really emphasized at the Bible College I went to. There it says:
“Then he said to his disciples, ‘the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.'”
Ephesians 4:11
“It was he who gave some to be
— apostles, some to be
— prophets, some to be
— evangelists, and some to be
— pastors and
— teachers,………” Read on!
Timothy was an evangelist. Second Timothy 4:5
Philip was an evangelist. Acts 21:8
Something what I learned about churches while I was still in Germany comes to my mind. We say in German:
Missionsgemeinden sind bluehende Gemeinden!
The meaning of that sentence is that evangelizing churches and witnessing churches are thriving, flourishing churches.
Alban Douglas in his book “One hundred Bible Lessons” is listing four purposes of the church on page 177:
1. To worship God and glorify him on earth. Ephesians 1:4-6
2. To evangelize the world with the Gospel. Matthew 28:19,20
3. To teach and instruct Christians. Ephesians 4:11-15
4. To witness constantly. Acts 1:8
I watched just now a DVD, running time 4 minutes, about introducing exploring space. It is all about understanding the universe.
On one page of the DVD booklet it says: “SEEING IS BELIEVING. Will seeing more help us learn more?”
On the same page I read also: “Hubble’s brilliant pictures have already raised as many questions as they have answered.”
I come across “Seeing is believing” quite a lot.
In the Bible, the Word of the Living God, the Lord Jesus Christ says to unbelieving Thomas,
“Because you have seen me, you have believed;
blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
John 20:29
HOW CAN WE UNDERSTAND HOW THE UNIVERSE WAS FORMED?
We find the answer in the Bible in Hebrews 11:3:
“BY FAITH WE UNDERSTAND THAT THE UNIVERSE WAS FORMED AT GOD’S COMMAND,…….”
“NUR DER KANN DURCHHALTEN, DER GEHALTEN IST.”
Peter Hahne
The Sole Purpose of the Church is a Soul Purpose. – W. D.
Where did I find the question?
I found the question “What’s on your mind?” in the local paper, The Northland Age, Tuesday, April 13, 2010.
“What’s on your Mind?” That’s how the ad begins and then it says that “The Hon. John Carter MP for Northland will be in Kaitaia on Monday April 26, 2010. Appointments can be made.
I gladly tell you what is on my mind . But before I tell you what is on my mind, let me ask you a question: WHAT IS ON YOUR MIND?’
There are of course many things on my mind. But there is one thing that is foremost on my mind. That is my spiritual life, my relationship with God, my Redeemer.
The church is also on my mind. I am going to a local church. I have heard people say: “God Yes! Church no!” There is a short post in German on this blog called: Gott – Ja! Kirche- Nein! The body of Christ is also very much on my mind.
Let me come back to my relationship with my Redeemer, the Lord Jesus Christ. Am I obedient to the Great Commission in Matthew 28:18-20? Click on Matthew 28:18-20 and read!
I have here before me the book “The Divine Art of Soul-Winning” by J. O. Sanders.
His first chapter in the book is called “A CONCERN FOR SOULS”. The chapter has the following 3 main points:
1. “Absence of conviction that every impenitent soul is utterly lost.”
2. “Absence of concern for the lost.”
3. “Absence of conception of the value of a soul.”
In the book you can find a bibliography. Writings by R. A. Torrey, C H. Spurgeon, W. Evans, C. M. Turnbull and others are mentioned there.
THE TASK OF THE CHURCH
Is it not the task of the church to teach and learn “The Divine Art of Soul-Winning?” Is that not why the church exists?
I observed that the Lord is raising up people from the body of Christ who have A CONCERN FOR SOULS!
I know we had them in Germany, when I was a young believer. I was blessed by those people. There was the Janz Team , Werner Heukelbach, Wim Malgo and many more.
Can you think of any Evangelists here in New Zealand at the present time?
I THINK IT IS TIME TO ASK THE LORD FOR EVANGELISTS!!
