WAR CRY GIVEAWAY

To be in to win a copy of  TRUE RED tell us how God rescued you from darkness into light.

SEPTEMBER, 1958, EVENING

God the Holy Spirit rescued me from darkness (hell) one evening in September 1958 and I am almost certain that it was the 2nd of September 1958. I was 18 years old at that time and that was more than 50 years ago.

On that day in September I had my second birthday (regeneration).  I passed from darkness to light.

I have learnt that the new birth (regeneration) is a sovereign work of the Holy Spirit. John 3:8

I have also learnt that the new birth (regeneration) is a secret work of the Holy Spirit. John 3:8

When I passed from darkness to light, (second birthday) I understood the BIBLE all of a sudden. Before that the BIBLE was for me like any other book.

In Ephesians 1:4 it says, “FOR HE CHOSE  US IN HIM BEFORE THE CREATION OF THE WORLD TO BE HOLY AND BLAMELESS IN HIS SIGHT.” Notice “…before the creation of the world…”

In First John 5:13 we read, “I WRITE THESE THINGS TO YOU WHO BELIEVE IN THE NAME OF THE SON OF GOD SO THAT YOU MAY KNOW  THAT YOU HAVE ETERNAL LIFE.” Notice  “….know that you have eternal life.”

Forgetting, remembering and learning!

Yesterday I attended the COOPERS BEACH EASTER CAMP. And when thinking today about what I heard in the first session, a quote from Benjamin Franklin ( 1706 – 1790 ) comes to my mind. Here is the quote:

“Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.”

In the first session the speaker ROBERT SIAKIMOTU from Open Air Campaigners (OAC) did not only tell us, he taught us and he involved us.

How did he do that?

He had notes for us called “The Gospel of Jesus Christ.” (“Matthew, Mark, Luke , John”)

He made us say things again and again (also actions) to get hold of the geographical locations in the GOSPELS.

I see also that there are gaps in the workbook (notes) and those gaps must be filled in by the student. To help the student, the first letter is given.

When thinking about the quote “Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn,” another occasion comes to me mind.

Long ago I was in Auckland / NZ in New Lynn. Between New Lynn Mall and McDonald’s I saw this time the director of Open Air Campaigners involved in talking to someone about the Lord (Personal Evangelism).

From what I remember he had taught people about Personal Evangelism in the classroom and now they were out on the street practicing what they had been taught.

As tool they used the questionnaire called:

“WHAT KIWIS BELIEVE”

The questionnaire has ten questions and you can read the ten questions on this blog by typing “WHAT KIWIS BELIEVE” into “Search.”

And let us never forget the quote by Benjamin Franklin:

“TELL ME AND I FORGET. TEACH ME AND I REMEMBER. INVOLVE ME AND I LEARN.”

“EASTER” IT SAYS ON THE CALENDAR

“EASTER” IT SAYS ON THE CALENDAR

“He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today! He walks with me and talks with me along life’s narrow way. He lives, He lives, SALVATION to impart! You ask me how I know He lives? He lives within my heart.”

That  is the Chorus of the hymn “HE LIVES” by Alfred H. Ackley. He lived from 1887-1960.

There are many evidences of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. The testimony of millions who have proved Him to be a living Saviour is one of the evidences. Alfred H. Ackley has proved him to be a living Saviour. I have also proved Him to be a living Saviour. What about you?

What is the foundation doctrine of the New Testament? It is the doctrine of the resurrection and the doctrine of the resurrection is mentioned 104 times in the New Testament. There is only one religion with a living originator and that is Christianity. And I really don’t need to tell you that Buddha is dead, that Mohammed is dead, that Brahma is dead, and that Marx is dead.

And this is the first verse of the hymn “HE LIVES” by Alfred H. Ackley:

“I serve a risen Saviour; He’s in the world today; I know that He is living, whatever men may say; I see His hand of mercy, I hear His voice of cheer, and just the time I need Him He’s always near.”

I am also serving a risen Saviour. I hope you do too!
