MERRY CHRISTMAS?
Yes, MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!
And let us not only be merry, let us be happy, let us feast and let us revel!
Please read Luke 15:23!
“And bring out that [wheat-] fattened calf and kill it, and let us revel and feast and be happy and merry;…” (The Amplified Bible)
WHY?
BECAUSE ONCE I WAS DARKNESS, BUT NOW I AM LIGHT IN THE LORD. (dead-alive; lost-found) Please read Luke 15:24 in The Amplified Bible.
In Luke 15:32 we read: “But it was fitting to make merry, to revel and feast and rejoice, for this brother of yours was dead, and is alive again! He was lost and is found!”
And here is what the older son [the elder brother] said: “But he answered his father, Lo, these many years I have served you, and I have never disobeyed your command; yet you never gave me [so much as] a (little) kid, that I might revel and feast and be happy and make merry with my friends;…” – Luke 15:29 (The Amplified Bible)
CAN YOU SAY ONCE I WAS DARKNESS, BUT NOW I AM LIGHT IN THE LORD? (dead-alive; lost-found)
Character
“Life is a series of experiences, each of which makes us bigger, even though sometimes it is hard to realise this. For the world was built to develop character and we must learn that setbacks and griefs which we endure help us in our marching onward.” – Henry Ford (Coffee News, Vol 128:4)
Please compare the above quote by Henry Ford with the following verses from the BIBLE, written by the apostle Paul to the church in Rome.
“And we rejoice in the HOPE of the glory of God.
(“…, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory.” – NLT)
Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings,
because we know that suffering produces perseverance;
perseverance, character; and
character HOPE.
And HOPE does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.” Romans 5:2-5 ( “And this hope will not lead us to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.” – NLT)
Are those two writers not saying the same thing?
Please let me know!
Romans 5:2-5 is also a good outline for a sermon.
“… my food basket, …”
Published advice
“The table is the point for family reunion three times a day, and nothing should be lacking that we can do to make those meetings pleasant and cheerful.” – (Published advice, 1896)
“Budget: …”
“Budget: a mathematical confirmation of your suspicions.” – A. A. Latimer

“Thus saith the Lord;….”
“Thus saith the Lord;…..”
In THE greypower MAGAZINE (March 2010) I am reading:
“The Prime Minister says…”
“The Opposition Leader says…”
It is all about Superannuation.
In the BBLE, the word of God I am reading:
“Thus says the Lord;…” again and again.
Isaiah 30:15: “This is what the Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says: ‘In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength,…'” (NIV)
Here we are told about our salvation and our strength. In order to get salvation we must repent and rest.
And how do we become strong? We must be quiet and we must trust.
John 11:40: “Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?” (Authorized Version)
Here we are told what we must do to see the glory of God. Do you want to see the glory of God? Just believe!
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no one cometh unto the Father, but by me.” – John 14:6 (Authorized Version)
Do you want to come to the Father? It is only possible by the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the life. He is the truth. And he is the only way!
