“Father and son proud owners of Sovereign Panel and Paint,” says the article. (Parts Press – Mitsubishi Motors – Issue 24)
The son followed in his father’s footsteps as an apprentice in the auto repair industry straight out of school.
“Follow in the footsteps of the rich and famous at one of these islands in Queensland.” That is the beginning of the article called “TOP 5 ISLANDS FOR HOLLYWOOD ROMANCE.” (Let’s Travel, Issue 14, October-November 2011)
What an encouragement!
I follow in the footsteps of the Lord Jesus Christ. Can I encourage you to do the same. The Lord Jesus Christ left us an example.
If we want to find rest for our souls we must take the yoke of the Lord upon us and learn from him. The Lord is gentle, the Lord is humble.
To follow the Lord means to deny ourselves, to take up our cross and follow him.
We should also do what the Lord has done for us. He has set us an example.
The Lord Jesus is the apostle and the high priest and we must fix our thoughts on him.
The Lord endured the cross and scorned its shame. We are encouraged to fix our eyes on him. Why? Because he is the author of our faith. He is also the perfecter of our faith.
I am a child of God and I want to follow in the footsteps of the Lord Jesus Christ!
I am looking at the pictures of a stunning property just now called “Lighthouse Lodge (In Receivership)” in Northland’s biggest real state guide. Current to December 7, 2011.
When I read “(In Receivership)” two portions of the Bible came to my mind, namely Luke 14:28-30 and Luke 14:31-33.
Please find a BIBLE and read those verses.
In Luke 14:28-30 the Lord is asking “Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost………?”
And in Luke 14:31-33 he is asking “Will he not first sit down and consider whether he is able to…..?”
“In the same way, any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple.” – Luke 14:33!
Daisy Downs Boarding Kennels (Booking Essential) advertises in one of our local papers:
“fun for dogs
peace of mind for owners”
“Why pre-plan your funeral?” asks an advertisement in THE NEW ZEALAND HERALD. “Peace of mind – knowing your affairs are in order,” is one of the answers.
What is peace of mind? Peace of mind is absence of mental anxiety.
Most of us have mental anxiety. Or can we say all of us have mental anxiety sometimes?
When I have mental anxiety I take my BIBLE and read Philippians 4:6,7.
Philippians is a letter written by the apostle Paul. Paul is writing to the saints in Christ Jesus at Philippi and the overseers and deacons.
Remember, the letter is written to saints. All true followers of the Lord Jesus Christ are saints. I am a true follower of the Lord and I am a saint. I know, you find that hard to believe, but nonetheless it is true!
In Philippians 4:4-6 the apostle is writing:
“Do not be anxious about anything,
but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
And now verse seven:
“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”
“Around 2,254,681 people took part in election 2011. But a further 1,000,000 eligible voters did not bother, producing the lowest percentage of voter turnout in 120 years.” – Anahera Herbert-Graves
