FREEDOM

I cannot remember how many times I read something about “FREEDOM” today. I should have taken more notice. Maybe some other time. If I remember correctly, it was in connection with the war, with withdrawals from the bank, with tenting and with campervans.

Just before going home I noticed a campervan and on the campervan was written “Liberty.”

But on my way home the Bible verse from Second Corinthians 2:17 came to my mind where it says, “Now, the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is FREEDOM!”

How good it is to know where we find REAL FREEDOM.

MAKE A WISH!

“Make a wish and I will fulfill your wish.” Let us say, somebody would say that to you and to me now. What would your wish be and what would my wish be?

You probably say, “Forget it, Werner, that only happens in fairy tales, but not in real life. End of story!

No, that is not the end of the story. That really happened to a man in the Bible. The name of the man was Solomon. Read First Kings 3:1-15.

First Kings 3:5 says, “At Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon during the night in a dream and God said, ‘ASK FOR WHATEVER YOU WANT ME TO GIVE YOU.'”

What would you have asked for? What would I have asked for?

This is what Solomon asked for, “So give your servant a discerning heart….” First Kings 3:9. Other translations say “an obedient heart.” (German Translation)

Somebody has pointed out: Disobedience towards the Living God is the source of all our troubles.

THE ANSWER TO ALL OUR TROUBLES IS JUST AS EASY AS THAT AND WE HAVE HEARD IT SO OFTEN. MAYBE BE WE HAVE HEARD IT TOO 0FTEN?

I ask once again: What is now your wish? What is now my wish?

“Living with my…”

When I was looking up I saw one of the headlines on the back page of the paper my wife was holding up in front of her and reading. The paper is called “The Photographer’s Mail” and the headline reads “Living with my…”

The thought how interesting went through my mind. “Living with my…’

The story was all about “Living with my ……. Monthly copy of “The Photographer’s Mail.” The story is about a Photo industry guru talking about life with the TPM (The Photograpers’s Mail). He says, “Gets better with time is the best way I can describeTPM.”

When I saw the headline my story came to my mind. Living with my …… BIBLE and my LIVING SAVIOUR! This is a story without ending. It goes on into eternity. My life with my Bible and my Saviour gets also better with time. And soon I will see Him when he comes for the second time . I hope I don’t die before that!

The BIBLE is for many an ordinary book like any other book on the book shelf. But for those who are believers in the Lord the Bible becomes a special book.

Is the BIBLE a special book for you?
