Voting in New Zealand (08. November 2008)

Voting is on already even before the 8th of November. You can see the signs in front of the library here in Kaitaia. The signs say ‘VOTING’.

I have ‘voted’* for the Lord Jesus Christ many many years ago.

THAT’S WHAT I THOUGHT, UNTIL I READ IN THE BIBLE:

Ephesians 1:4 “For he chose us in him before the creation of the world…”

I did not ‘vote’ for the Lord, but he chose me before the creation of the world.

But not only the apostle Paul is teaching about election, but the apostle Peter says in:

First Peter 1:1 ” ……, To God’s elect,….., who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father,….”

The Word LOVE Thirteen Times in Six Verses

First John 4:7-12

“Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.”

Think about those verses. I will think about those verses also!

What do you see?

“Perseverance is failing nineteen times and succeeding the twentieth.” – -Julie Andrew

That’s what I read yesterday in a publication.

I love the word perseverance.

The Bible talks also about perseverance. The verse in Hebrews 11:27 has been a great blessing in my life. It says there,”….; he (Moses) persevered because he saw him who is invisible.” That is the verse according to the New International Version.

But I must have read the RSV, when this verse became really meaningful to me, because it is underlined there with ink. There it says,”…..; for he endured as seeing him who is invisible.”

I asked my wife, “Is there a difference between perseverance and endurance?” She thinks both words have the same meaning, but I looked the words up in the dictionary. You can look up the words also and find out for yourself!

Moses saw him who is invisible.

What do you see, when there is a need for you to persevere? When there is a need for you to endure? Are you looking into a black hole? Or are you seeing him who is invisible like Moses?

I THINK IT HAS ALL TO DO WITH OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH OUR LORD AND SAVIOUIR JESUS CHRIST!!

Do you have a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ?

PAJNAJ? (Where are you going?)

That is the common greeting in the “Land of the Free”, Thailand. Also called the “Land of Smile”. Where are you going? That is a good question.

The common answer to that is pajthiaw. The meaning is “to go around.” If someone goes to the market, he will tell you of course. Sometimes the answer is just, ” I am going this way!”

Now I am asking you: Where are you going? There are only two places to go to. Either we are going to heaven or we are going to hell.
