“MADE BY GOD- PACKED BY CHARLIE’S”

PERSONAL EVANGELISM

I am writing this in Auckland and last Sunday I attended the Bible Chapel in New Lynn. Inspired by the sermon a lady got up and told the following story at the end of the sermon, “I met up with a man at the Foodtown checkout who asked ‘WHO IS GOD?’ after he had read something on a bottle of Charlie’s honest squeezed Orange Juice.” To make a long story short, the Lord made her meet up with that same man three times in a row and only the third time she had the courage to say to the stranger what the Lord wanted her to say to him.

I AM NOW MORE THAN EVER CONVINCED THAT WE HAVE TO TRAIN UP PEOPLE IN PERSONAL EVANGELISM!

I myself went straight to Foodtown after the service to find out about Charlie’s honest squeezed Orange Juice. I did find the bottles, but could not find the writing on them “Made by God- Packed by Charlie’s”. The reason was probably that I did not have my glasses on me.

I asked a nearby man who is a worker there at Foodtown. But his comment was,” God has more important things to do than to make orange juice for us!”

But the next day I found the one litre bottle with the following writing on it “Made by God–Packed by Charlie’s”!

Tomato plants

We have been away for almost a week. Before we went to Auckland my wife positioned young tomato plants near the window. When we came back today all the plants were bent leaning towards the light coming through the window.

I found that very interesting because it says in the Bible, “….but men loved darkness instead of light because…..” John 3:19

We can learn even from the small tomato plants.

Our quiet Time

Some of you may know that we have been in Thailand for thirteen years. I like thai food and as there are a good number of Thai restaurants in Auckland I had a meal in one of them on our recent trip to the city.

When I watched the thai lady there putting food on a shelf and praying in front of the shelf I was reminded of Thailand.

Once I stayed in a hotel in the northeast of Thailand (Khon Kaen) and I saw a man praying in front of the spirit house of the hotel. I talked to him and apparently he is doing that every morning and every evening.

What a challenge for believers in the Lord Jesus Christ to praise God every morning and every evening and to pray and read the Bible.
