Commitment

The EOS Business School is also talking about commitment. They are going so far and say that my life and my future is their commitment. They want me to stand out from the crowd with recognised computerskills.

Quantum Learning says the same. They are advertising the culinary Institute of NZ. They want me to become part of the exciting world of global cuisine.

Commitment is a big word in the business world. It should also be a big word for us Christians. But is it?

Are we committed to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ?

Handbook for the Electric Shaver?

Today I picked up the ordered new foil for my electric shaver (Braun). I was so pleased that spare parts are still available for the very old shaver. It is easy to change the foil. But I asked the sales lady if they woul help me to take the shaver apart if need be. She said, ” Yes, but your hand book for the razor tells you how to do it.” My answer was,” The shaver is so old, I do not know where the hand book is.”

THE BIBLE IS THE HAND BOOK FOR OUR LIFE! DO YOU HAVE ONE? DO YOU KNOW WHERE IT IS?

Difficult Bibleverses and Biblepassages

Luke 18:25—This morning I came to Luke 18:25 where it talks about ” THE NEEDLE’S EYE”. What does that mean? –Fortunately I have a book where different passages of the BIBLE, which are difficult to understand, are explained. My wife found it in a second hand shop. I think it was some years ago in Kawakawa. I have actually picked up quite a number of good books in second hand shops!

There was a large door. But a smaller door was fixed into the larger one. This smaller door was called the “needle’s eye.”

A Bit of Heaven!(?)

Business people come up with some strange things, things they probably don’t believe themselves. They are not only talking about ‘paradise’ but also about ‘heaven’.

In a travel brochure about Thailand (we used to work in Thailand for 13 years) you can read,” For those in search of a tropical paradise, Thailand’s islands and beaches defy the definition of heaven on earth.” An ice cream business is selling Premium ice cream, Gelato 96% fat free and it says : One lick & you are in Heaven ! Today you can read in one of the papers here about KALEIDOSCOPE HEAVEN. There are also photos. A land agent talks about the Location Plus Views of a property and then it says: A BIT OF HEAVEN. This jewel of a home with 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms & 2 Lounges… and so it goes on and on. I am going to add this very quick: Kauri Mill- Northland’s own slice of Heaven-Bread– Available here!

When I read the last about A BIT OF HEAVEN in Whangaparaoa some time ago I was immediately awake. I stopped and started thinking. Usually people don’t believe in Heaven and Hell.

But the Bible speaks of heaven and hell. Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ is talking more about heaven and hell than any other person in the Word of God. –Mark 9:42-48– But I don’t only want a bit of heaven, I want heaven itself.

But in order to get into heaven we need to go a certain way. And that is easy for anybody to understand. In order to reach any destination we do have to go into a certain direction and a certain way.

The way to heaven is the Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord Jesus Christ says himself in John 14:6 (click on address)…In order to come to Jesus and in order to get into heaven, we must be truthful. But we are full of untruth. And untruthfulness is SIN. Sinners have no entrance into heaven.

But the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin. We must come to the Lord and confess our sins. The Lord Jesus Christ must become our righteousness. Only when we have the righteousness of the Lord Jesus Christ, can we stand before God the Father.

Go for all of heaven and not only for a bit!

Preparation

At the end of Amos 4:12 it says,” prepare to meet your God, O Israel.”

That is the message for all of us: Prepare to meet your creator, O Werner. You can put your name ( ) in there!

The BIBLE tells us how to be prepared!

Do the things you love with a Quality Education

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE TITLE AND THE WRITING ON THE PICTURE?

That saying really makes me think! One person I know has a quality education and loves the job. But that person also says,” There are many things I have to do which I don’t love. I have to discipline myself to do them.”

I personally do not agree with that statement on the picture!

Can anybody help?

I think the words discipline and disciple are related?

We are the disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Your Choice… My Commitment

This advertisement from a landagent goes like this: Thinking of selling? I have a database of buyers seeking Kerikeri properties. Friendly and competent service assured.

YOUR CHOICE… MY COMMITMENT

I have here also another leaflet advertising a Christian Women’s Conference. It was held long ago and one of the speakers was Billy Graham’s daughter Anne Graham Lotz (USA). She was speaking about Personal Commitment to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

What about our Commitment as Christians?

Can we say to the Lord: Lord, I am fully committed to the way you have chosen for my life!–Please read Mark 14:35,36

Can we say: YOUR CHOICE…… MY COMMITMENT!

Commitment

This goes back to the time when there was no McDonald’s in Kerikeri. The Chronicle (Saturday March 6,1999) carried the following story: “Paul and Sandra Steiner who plan to open the new McDonald’s fast food outlet attended the meeting with McDonald’s Director Glenn Corbett. Mr Steiner said he was passionate about his business and he was committed to bringing McDonald’s to Kerikeri. The paper said KERIKERI DIVIDED– but in spite of opposition there is now a big McDonald’s in the middle of the town.

Are we as Christians passionate about the business of our Lord Jesus Christ? Are we taking the GOSPEL ( Romans 1:16,17) to places where people are who have not heard yet about the Lord Jesus Christ?— Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15-18; Luke 24:46-49; John 20:19-23; Acts 1:8 .
