Children learn what they live

We used to live in Kaikohe for 23 years from 1981-2004 working with the United Maori Mission (UMM). During that time we used to run a meeting for children in the play centre in Ohaeawai. At the play centre was a poster with the title Children learn what they live. When I read that I was very impressed with what I read but did not write it down.

How pleased was I today when I came across the writing again in the bookshop here in Kaitaia. The author is Dorothy Law Nolte.

If a child lives with criticism, He learns to condemn. If a child lives with hostility, He learns to fight. If a child lives with ridicule, he learns to be shy. If a child lives with shame, He learns to feel guilty. If a child lives with tolerance, He learns to be patient. If a child lives with encouragement, He learns confidence. If a child lives with praise, He learns to appreciate. If a child lives with fairness, He learns justice. If a child lives with security, He learns to have faith. If a child lives with approval, He learns to like himself. If a child lives with acceptance and friendship, He learns to find love in the world.

SHADES

I don’t know if you agree with that statement.

May be your future is as dark as could be. But for us who belong to the Lord Jesus Christ, for us, who do understand the BIBLE, the FUTURE surely is bright and we have to wear shades at times, because we cannot digest everything at once.

—– Our FUTURE is bright, because our Lord Jesus Christ is the light of the world. John 8:12

—–Our FUTURE is bright, because we know where we come from and we know where we are going and we also know what the present is all about. The Bible says in Hebrews 13:8 (Please read!)

—–Our FUTURE is bright, because…
