Pharao did not. He said so himself, “I do not know the Lord…….” Exodus 5:2
1. Only the Lord is selfexistent.
2. We are dependent beings.

I watched a bit TV while away from home and there was the story of a rescue, which was really a miracle. He can thank his lucky stars was said about the person rescued.
Maybe somebody can tell me where that phrase about the lucky stars comes from?
I don’t know about the lucky stars, but I know about the Living God, who made the stars. I have said it before, but I say it again: “The God of eternity is the God of every hour and minute for a believer in Jesus Christ.”
Are you a believer in Jesus Christ? Then say to yourself, “The God of eternity is the God of every hour and minute for a believer in Jesus Christ.” I did that not long ago, when I was in a difficult situation and knots became untied.
If you are as yet not a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and want to know how to become one, read more posts on this blog.

“VISION is not enough; it must be combined with venture. It is not enough to stare up the steps; we must step up the stairs.” – Vaclav Havel
“A VISION without a task is
BUT A DREAM,
a task without a VISION is drudgery,
a VISION and a task is the hope of the world.”
– A church in Sussex, England, ca. 1730
First Peter 5:8
Be self-controlled and alert. YOUR ENEMY the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
“Unleash yourself,” I was reading on the big building in front of me. “What is that building all about?” I asked somebody in a hairdresser shop. The answer came, “That is a gym.”
But what a message for me: “UNLEASH YOURSELF!”
Werner, unleash yourself for the service of the Lord, especially when it comes to Personal Evangelism.
Are you unleashed for the service of the Lord?
CH Spurgeon writes in one of his books: “To speak for God will be
— refreshing to us,
— encouraging to saints,
— useful to sinners,
— and honouring to the Saviour.”
And he finishes with this:” Mute children are an affliction to their parents. Lord, unloosen all Your children’s tongues.’
I am reading that on a leaflet I picked up this morning in a health shop at the New Lynn Mall in Auckland. Underneath are products advertised with pictures. Just to name some: “Re-hydrate your muscles.” “Grow your muscles.” “Daily help with your nutrition.” There are more of course.
On the back it says,”Was your NEW YEAR RESOLUTION to go to the gym and get fit after the Christmas excesses?” I say, “No, it was not!”
My Life resolution is to serve the Lord better while I am still here on this earth. This morning in my quiet time I read at the beginning of Paul’s letter to the Philippians,”Paul and Timothy, the SERVANTS of Jesus Christ,…” (Philippians 1:1)
Instead of going to the gym I am going for long walks every day to keep fit. Only this morning I took the bus. The bus stop is on the road where I am staying at the moment and it was raining today. Also having reached a certain age I am in the possession of the SUPER GOLD CARD from the New Zealand Government and can go on any bus in Auckland without paying a single cent.
And I am glad I went by bus this time, because I was able to explain the Gospel to the young man, who was sitting at the bus stop. He believed in God and acknowledged that he was a sinner. Before the bus arrived to take me to the New Lynn Mall, I was able to tell him that we as sinners have deserved death. God is just and his justice demands punishment. But praise God, the Lord Jesus Christ loved us so much and died in our stead. He is our substitute. But we must believe in the Lord Jesus Christ!
Let us open our mouths for the Lord whenever we are led to do so!

“It’s not the load that breaks you down, it’s the way you carry it.” – Lou Holtz
The BIBLE has even a better way: Psalm 68:19
David is singing:
PRAISE BE TO THE LORD,
TO GOD OUR SAVIOUR,
WHO DAILY BEARS OUR BURDENS.
Notice the word daily!
