The very TOP of Aotearoa (NZ) – Motu o Pao Island

Amy Carmichael once said:
“WE HAVE ALL ETERNITY TO CELEBRATE THE VICTORIES, BUT ONLY A FEW HOURS BEFORE SUNSET TO WIN THEM.”
Golden Nugget:
Psalm 37:23
“If the Lord delights in a man’s way, he makes his steps firm.”
In deutsch:
“Vom Herrn her werden die Schritte des Mannes gefestigt, und zwar wenn er Gefallen hat an seinem Wandel;..”
TRUE FASTING (3 of 3)
TRUE FASTING:
Isaiah 58:13-14
Intr.:
Is not this the kind of Fasting I have chosen: Isaiah 58:6
IF YOU….
1. If you keep your feet from breaking the Sabbath and
2. from doing as you please on my holy day,
3. if you call the Sabbath a delight and
4. the Lord’s holy day honorable, and
5. if you honor it by not going your own way and
6. not doing as you please or
7. speaking idle words,
then
1. you will find your joy in the Lord, and
2. I will cause you to ride on the heights of the land and
3. to feast on the inheritance of your father Jacob.
End:
The mouth of the Lord has spoken.
Have you heard about CT Studd?
“Who can doubt He will send the right people? Personally I would sooner have a few dare-devil care-for-nothing-and-nobody soldiers aflame with the love of Christ than a million workers just 10% below this standard.” – CT Studd (Founder of WEC)
The Ending is Important
“Although no-one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ENDING!”
Mother’s Day is on the tenth of May (It even rhymes!)
“THANK YOU FOR ALWAYS BEING THERE”
There are all kinds of Mother’s Day cards for sale at the local post office here in Kaitaia. I picked up a good number of the cards only to read them very quickly. On one was written “For a very special Mum” and “Happy Mother’s Day.” You would expect that. But what it said on the inside of the card really made me think. Only six words. But what a statement about a mother. It said there: “Thank you for always being there.” Can you say anything better about a mother? I don’t think so!
Mothers are always there. They are always there for their children.
I don’t think you remember a lot about the diapers. At least I don’t. But mother was there! But you remember the skinned knees. Maybe one can still see the scars on your knees. Your mother was there. But you remember the school lunches. Mother prepared them for you! Figur out one of these days how many school lunches she prepaired for you. Do you remember the galas?
And of course, there are many many more things you remember about your mother.
We remember Mum in a special way on the tenth of May this year.
My mother died many years ago.
But I have another mother in my house, the mother of my children. I was not going to do that. But I saw special cards for mothers like that in the shop (Paper Plus) and I think I am going to give my wife one of those cards.*
“Thank you for always being there” is a statement. But when I hear that statement a promise comes to my mind straight away. The wording is a bit different of course, but the meaning is the same. You have guessed correctly, we find the promise in the Bible, the Word of the Living God. It is actually the last verse of the first Gospel, the Gospel of Matthew. That is in the New Testament. There it says – Matthew 28:20 – “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
We are thankful for mothers, who are there for us for a certain short time, but we are eternally thankful for the Lord Jesus Christ who is with us forever according to His promise:
“AND SURELY I AM WITH YOU ALWAYS, TO THE VERY END OF THE AGE.”
Matthew 28:20
Genesis 28:15; Exodus 33:14; Deuteronomy 20:1; Isaiah 43:2; Matthew 18:20!
* I bought the card today – 29. 04. 09 – for $ 5.50. The text starts with “For my beautiful Wife…..” and finishes with ” ….HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY”
On the front page is a picture of a boy and a girl!
