Some say yes and some say no. What do you think?
God grant me the serenity to
Accept the things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can,
And the wisdom to see the difference.

MARAH (Bitter!)
Intr. There the LORD
— made a decree for them
— made a law for them
— he tested them.
HE SAID,:
1. if you listen carefully to the voice of the Lord your God and
2. do what is right in his eyes,
3. if you pay attention to his commands
4. and keep all his decrees,
End:
— I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians,
— for I am the Lord, who heals you.
Isaiah 58:6,9-12,14
Intr.:
Is not this the kind of Fasting I have chosen:
If you
1. do away with the yoke of oppression,
2. with the pointing finger and
3. malicious talk, and
4. if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and
5. satisfy the needs of the oppressed,
then
1. your light will rise in the darkness, and
2. your night will become like the noonday.
3. The Lord will guide you always;
4. he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and
5. will strengthen your frame.
6. You will be like a well-watered garden,
7. like a spring whose waters never fail.
8. Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins and
9. will raise up the age-old foundations;
10. you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls,
11. Restorer of Streets with Dwellings.
End: The mouth of the Lord has spoken.
