1. he who created you, O Jacob,

2. he who formed you, O Israel:

2. for I have redeemed you;

3. I have summoned you by name;

4. you are mine.

5. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and

6. when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.

7. When you walk through the fire,

a. you will not be burned;

b. the flames will not set you ablaze.
