The Gibeonite Deception

In my daily reading of the Bible I read just now Joshua 9:14 where it says:

“The men of Israel sampled their provisions, but did not inquire of the Lord.”

Are we not doing the same at times. We are doing everything else , instead of coming in  prayer before the Lord.

Can you also say that?

— keep the commands of the Lord your God and

— walk in his ways.

(If you pay attention to the commands of the Lord your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, …)

A. THEN ALL THE PEOPLES ON EARTH

1. will see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they

2. will fear you.

B. THE LORD WILL GRANT YOU ABUNDANT PROSPERITY –

1. in the fruit of your womb,

2. the young of your livestock and

3. the crops of your grounds –

in the  land he swore to your forefathers to give you.

C. THE LORD WILL OPEN THE HEAVENS,

THE STOREHOUSE OF HIS BOUNTY,

1. to send rain on your land in season and

2.  to bless all the work of your  hands.

3. You will lend to many nations  but will borrow from none.

D. THE LORD WILL MAKE YOU THE HEAD, not the tail. (…you will always be at the top, never at the bottom.)
