“Escape to beautiful KAWAU ISLAND”

“Escape to beautiful KAWAU ISLAND”

“I saw it in……………….. tourist times”

Warkworth is a town north of Auckland in New Zealand and cruises depart from there. The place is called Sandspit and is just five minutes off State HW one.

I  have been once to Kawau Island, not to escape, but to visit. That was long ago!

I am reading again and again about escaping.

Have you ever read what the Bible, the Word of the Living God, says about escaping?

Please find a Bible and  turn with me to Hebrews 2:3. That is a book in the New Testament.

In Hebrews 2:3 it says:

“…., how shall we escape if we ignore such a great

SALVATION?

(Hebrews 2:3-4)

Intr.:

This SALVATION,

1.  which was first announced by the LORD,

2.  was confirmed to us by those who heard him.

3.  God also testifies to it by

a. signs,

b. wonders and

c. various miracles, and

d. gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will.”

End:

Sermon Outline – OT (NIV)

“‘………….., YET YOU HAVE NOT RETURNED TO ME’,

Amos 4:6-12

Intr.:

declares the LORD.”

1. “‘I gave you empty stomachs in every city and

2. lack of bread in every town,

yet you have not returned to me,’

declares the LORD.”

3. “‘I also withheld rain from you when the harvest was still three months away.

4. I sent rain on one town, but withheld it from another.

5. One field had rain; another had none and dried up.

6. People staggered from town to town for water, but did not get enough to drink,

yet you have not returned to me,’

declares the LORD.”

7. “‘Many times I struck your gardens and vineyards, I struck them with blight and mildew.

8. Locusts devoured your fig and olive trees,

yet you have not returned to me,’

declared the LORD.”

9. “‘I sent plagues among you as I did in Egypt.

10. I killed your young men with the sword, along with your captured horses.

11. I filled your nostrils with the stench of your camps,

yet you have not returned to me,’

declares the LORD.”

12. I overthrew some of  you as I overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.

13. You were like a burning stick snatched from the fire,

yet you have not returned to me,’

declares the LORD.”

End:

“‘Therefore this is what I will do to you, Israel, and because I will do this to you, prepare to met your God, O Israel.'”

The BIBLE and the NEWSPAPER

In my daily reading of the Bible from cover to cover I am reading just now in the book of Joel chapter one the verses ten to twelve. Joel 1:10-12

There it says, “The fields are ruined, the ground is dried up; the grain is destroyed,…” “Despair, you farmers,..” “…., because the harvest of the field is destroyed.” “Surely the joy of mankind is withered away.”
