BOOKS!

In the April 2011 NORTH & SOUTH magazine I am reading on page 100:

“As the magazine marks its 25-year anniversary – and NZ Book Month celebrates books, reading and literacy – we asked six of the stars who’ve peppered  our pages these past decades to identify a book that has had a lasting impact on them – or even changed their life.”

One of the six stars who peppered the pages of the magazine these past decades is Tessa Duder, a writer herself, and she names her most life -changing book and says also “Any book opens a window…”

If you ask me to identify a book that has had a lasting impact on me and even changed my life, I would say that the Bible, the Word of the Living  God, has not only had a lasting, but an everlasting impact on me and has changed my life and is still changing my life.

The Bible does not only open a window, the Bible opens a door, the door to heaven!

“ANYWAY.”

“anyway.”

“People can be unreasonable, illogical and self – centred.

LOVE THEM ANYWAY.

If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish motives.

DO GOOD ANYWAY.

The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.

DO GOOD ANYWAY.

People really need help but may attack you if you help them.

HELP PEOPLE ANYWAY.

If you are successful, you win false friends and true enemies.

SUCCEED ANYWAY.

What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight.

BUILD ANYWAY.

Give the world the best you’ve got; it may never be enough;

BUT GIVE THE WORLD THE BEST YOU’VE GOT ANYWAY.”

FAITH

“Consequently, FAITH

1. comes from hearing the message, and

2. the message is heard through the word of Christ.” – Romans 10:17
