Connections

“CONNECTIONS KEY TO BEING HAPPY: EXPERT,” is the article in the NORTHERN ADVOCATE (Tuesday, September 17, 2013) called.

THE KEY

THE KEY

In the article I am reading about family connections and community connections, about meaningful family and community connections. It says also that the connections are the key to being happy.

Being happy is being pleased, being fortunate. Being happy means feeling and causing joy or gladness.

If meaningful family and community connections are causing joy or gladness already, let us think about the joy, the gladness that is ours, when we enter into a meaningful connection with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

We need the connection with other people, but most of all we need the connection with God.

A Newspaper with Verses from the Bible

On the backpage of our local paper, THE NORTHLAND AGE, you find verses from the BIBLE.

"God's Word: open for all"

“God’s Word: open for all”

Today (THE NORTHLAND AGE, Tuesday, September 17, 2013) I find there James 3:17,18 and here they are:

“But the wisdom that comes from above

James 3:17,18 (CEV)

Intr.: leads us to be

1.  pure,

2.  friendly,

3.  gentle,

4.  sensible,

5.  kind,

6.  helpful,

7.  genuine, and

8.  sincere.

When peacemakers plant seeds of peace, they will harvest justice.”

Please let me know if there are more newspapers with verses from the Bible!

Virtue

When I read today the quote “Hope is one of the theological virtues” by C. S. Lewis, it came to me to find out more about the word “virtue”.

When looking up the word “virtue” in The Collins Concise Dictionary I read the following:

1.  “the quality or practice of moral excellence or righteousness.” Please notice the word practice!

2. “any admirable quality or trait”.

3. “any of the cardinal virtues (prudence, justice, fortitude, and temperance) or theological virtues (faith, hope, and charity).”

In my reading of the Bible from cover to cover I  came today to Luke 8:21, where the Lord Jesus Christ says, “My mother and brothers are those  who hear God’s word and put it into practice.”
