TIME

“If you don’t have time to pray & read scriptures, you are busier than God ever intended you to be,” it says on the first page of a church newsletter.

TIME TO PRAY

Have I lost you already? I hope not!

"JESUS GOD'S GIFT 2 U"

“JESUS
GOD’S GIFT
2 U”

Please listen carefully to this prayer quote:

“I never prayed sincerely for anything but it came, at some time … somehow, in some shape,”

says Adoniram  Judson.

All I know about Adoniram Judson at the present time is that he was a missionary in Burma. But I want to find out more about him. We can probably say, “I never prayed sincerely for anything,” but can we say, “but it came, at some time … somehow, in some shape?”

And please listen to what Martin Luther said, “I have so much to do (today) that I shall spend the first three hours in prayer.”

Not long ago I finished reading the book REALITAETEN by M. Basilea Schlink.  You find already two posts about the book on this blog. I think I am going to read the book again!

James writes in James 5:16 “… The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” But you have heard that again and again!

TIME TO READ SCRIPTURES

From my own experience I know that we cannot understand the Bible (properly), unless we know the author of the Scriptures and the author of the Bible  is God the Holy Spirit. If you don’t have a living relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ the Bible is like any other book.

From my own experience I know also about the struggle I had to read the Bible from cover to cover, every word, like any other book. Then a miracle happened in my life, the year came when I read the Bible twice from cover to cover within one year.

Don’t be busier than God intended you to be, take time to pray and read the Bible.

Finished reading the book:

REALITAETEN

Gottes Wirken heute erlebt

by M. Basilea Schlink in German.

It is one of the books you have trouble putting down. At least I have!

I think it would be a good idea to get hold of a good number of copies in English to give away!

“FREE BATTERY TEST”

“Free Battery Test,” it says at one of the many garages here in town (Kaitaia). I pass the place in which motor vehicles are being repaired on my way to the main shopping center.

Batteries

Batteries

Have you heard about Prayer Batteries?

I think it was years ago at the WEC International (Missionary Society) HQ in London, when I heard for the first time of Prayer Batteries.

One of the definitions under ‘battery’ in The Collins Concise Dictionary is “a group of guns, missile launchers, etc., operating as a single entity.”

C. H. Spurgeon writes this, “‘Fervent Prayer,’ says an old divine, ‘like a cannon planted at the gates of heaven, makes them fly open.'”

Free Prayer Battery Test.

What is the result? What do you think?

I notice that WEC International writes now about Prayer Groups, not Prayer Batteries, at least here in New Zealand (NZ Praying Worldwide).

GOALS THAT PULL

wernerweb-150x150Has anybody ever asked you the question, “Do you have a regular exercise program?”

I am motivated to be on the streets in town where the people are. My goal is to leave at least once a day our home for the center of Kaitaia. There are many places where you can get a good cup of coffee and that are also the places to meet people and get into conversations.

I enjoy walking, and it is quite a distance from our place into town.

I am also motivated to read.

At the present time another of my goals is to get hold of a certain magazine every two weeks at a certain place at a certain time.

In order to do that I am required to walk for quite a distance.

My answer to the question, “Do you have a regular exercise program?” is “Yes!”

My exercise program is walking and I have told you about the goals which pull me to do so.

Goals have power!

LEBENSANZEIGE

werner-150x150Todesanzeige oder Lebensanzeige?

Wir sind gewohnt, von Todesanzeigen zu lesen. Aber wie erstaunt war ich heute, von einer Lebensanzeige unter

“VERSTORBEN”

zu lesen.

“Lebensanzeige – durch den Tod

ins ewige Leben uebergegangen,”
