Bird’s – Eye View

“…, and the day of death better than the day of birth.” – Ecclesiastes 7:1

Do you feel muddled? Do you feel lost?

Nothing is more important than to have a bird’s eye view of life.

We must have a bird’s eye view before we come to the details.

WHAT IS THE BIRD’S – EYE VIEW?

We must always keep in mind what is basically the meaning of life.

What is the meaning of life? What does the Bible say?

We find the answer in Ecclesiastes, where it says in chapter 12 verse 13:

“Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.”

WHAT ARE THE DETAILS?

Let us be very practical.

We must take care of our HEALTH.

We need an INCOME.

It seems actually that the list is endless.

I almost forgot that we have to PAY TAX also.

REMEMBER:

If we are looking at the details of life only, it is easy to get muddled and lost.

“‘Therefore go …'”

There are places in this world with a small population, but a strong Christian Witness, and we are thankful for places like that. In those places are lots of Churches and pastors.

Are you living in a place like that?

But there are also places with lots of people and hardly any Christian Witness.

Not long ago a Bible League International pamphlet came to me by post and the publication tells me some Fast Facts about SENEGAL:

Population: 12,521,851

Number of Full-time Christian workers: Less than 100

Population below the International Poverty Line of 1.25 per day: 29.6%

In Matthew 28 at the end we find The Great Commission and there the Lord Jesus Christ says:

“‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.'”

“OUR PICK”

"The Amplified Bible"

“The Amplified Bible”

“Our Pick,” it says several times in the Summer Reading Guide, I picked up at our local Bookshop Marston Moore on Commerce Street.

One of the picks I am interested in I find under NZ Biography & Non – Fiction. It is the book called TANGATA WHENUA by Atholl Anderson, Judith Binney and Aroha Harris. The cost of the book is $99.99.

Sir Tipene O’Reagan says about the book,”One of the most significant books on the Maori world ever written.”

But my real pick for the Summer reading is the Bible. But I don’t read my Bible only in Summer, but all year round.

Why do I do that? Because the Bible is THE BOOK OF BOOKS.  The author of the Bible is God, the Holy Spirit.
