No Peace

LOVE

“‘Because of the increase of wickedness, the LOVE of most will grow cold, …” – Matthew 24:12

JOY

“‘This day is sacred to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the JOY of the LORD is your strength.'” – Nehemiah 8:10

The Law: Its Functions and Limits

What makes me especially think that love, peace and joy are on the minds of people at the present time?

Let me tell you.

Because I have seen those words on the front page of the Summer Reading Guide of a book shop. “PEACE LOVE BOOKS,” it says there.

“Peace on Earth”

“Give, love, joy,” I am reading on the front page of a Department Store Catalogue.

And in a Craft shop I read “Love, Peace, Joy,” at least twice.

Let me ask you three questions:

1. Are we longing for LOVE?

2. Are we longing for PEACE?

3. Are we longing for JOY?

In the Bible, in Galatians 5:22 we are taught hat LOVE is  a fruit of the Spirit, that JOY is a fruit of the Spirit and that PEACE is a fruit of the Spirit.
