MIRROR

“Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.” – James 1:23,24

In the January 11, 2014 issue of the magazine called THE PEOPLE’S FRIEND I am reading about the “Sunshine People”. Stupendous things are said about the “Sunshine people,” but I am wondering if their whole story is told.

This is said about them:

SUNSHINE

They “come into our lives like a gleam of sunshine.”

Coming in touch with them refreshes us, cheers us up, and makes us feel rested. And we cannot explain why. They are willing to hear about our worries and anxieties. (That is amazing.) They are making our cares their own. That makes our burden light and what a comfort that is. And there is no explanation for it.

I am not sure of course, but I think the whole story of the “Sunshine People” is, that they are in touch with the Sun of Righteousness, the Lord Jesus Christ. Malachi 4:2

WORLD REFUGEE DAY

The Collins Concise Dictionary says that a refugee is “a person who has fled from some danger or problem.”

That makes me actually a refugee!

We fled from the East to the West of Germany before I was six, but I don’t remember very much about it!

“Save Lives Give Blood”

Most of us want to be blessed and be a blessing. I mean we want to be blessed by the Lord and bless others.

Who are the people, the Lord is blessing?

1. The people the Lord is blessing are the humble people. – HUMILITY

Humble people are conscious of their failings. They don’t pretend. They are lowly.

2. They are honest people. – INTEGRITY

Honest people are unimpaired, they are sound.

“Count your blessings”

3. They are genuine people. – AUTHENTICITY

You can trust them. They are reliable.

4. They are people who love others. – LOVE

You love someone, when you feel attached to that person, when you have affections for that person.  And what does the Bible say about  love in First Corinthians 13:4-8? It begins with: “Love is patient, love is kind,” Please read the next verses!

WHAT MAKES ME SAY THAT?

There is one World Evangelist the Lord has blessed and who has been a blessing and that is Billy Graham. In the foreword of the book BILLY GRAHAM AND ME by Steve Posner & Amy Newark, the PR-expert Larry Ross summarizes the life of Billy Graham with these four words:

HUMILITY, INTEGRITY, AUTHENTICITY AND LOVE.
