“Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity,

Hebrews 6:1-3

Intr.:

not laying again the foundation

1.  of repentance from acts that lead to death, and

2. of faith in God,

3.  instruction about baptisms,

4.  the laying on of hands,

5.  the resurrection of the dead, and

6.  eternal judgment.

End:

And God permitting, we will do so,”

“A KIND WORD”

“Don’t underestimate how much a kind word can help,” is “The Thought For This Week” in the magazine called The People’s Friend, January 14, 2012.

1. KIND WORDS helped the brother’s of Joseph. Joseph spoke kind words. You read that in Genesis 50:21, the first book of the Bible.

2. KIND WORDS helped those who stumbled. Job spoke kind words to people. Please read Job 4:4.

3. KIND WORDS help to turn away wrath. The Bible teaches that in Proverbs 15:1.

4. KIND WORDS help to break a bone. Please read that in the Old Testament in Proverbs 25:15.

5. KIND WORDS help to instruct us. That is said about The Wife of Noble Character in Proverbs 31:26

6. KIND WORDS help not only to instruct us , but they help also to sustain the weary. The Sovereign LORD has given the prophet Isaiah an instructed tongue and the word that sustains the weary.  Read Isaiah 50:4

7. KIND WORDS helped King Johoiachin. Evil – Merodach , the King of Babylon, spoke kind words. You find those kind words in Jeremiah 52:32.

Kind Words can help you too.

“He also says,

Hebrews 1:10-12

Intr.:

‘In the beginning, O Lord,

1.  you laid the foundations of the earth, and

2.  the heavens are the work of your hands.

3.  They will perish, but you remain;

4.  they will all wear out like a garment.

5.  You will roll them up like a robe;

6.  like a garment they will be changed.

End:

But you remain the same, and your years will never end.'”

BOOKS FOR COMPANY

SOUTH by E. Shackleton

SOUTH by E. Shackleton

“Keep a good book for company,” encourages me the column called “Look who’s talking!” in one of our local papers. (Northern News, June 3, 2015)

The good book that keeps me company at the present time is called SOUTH, The Endurance Expedition by Ernest Shackleton.

The GOOD BOOK that keeps me company all the time is the BIBLE!

The Collins Concise Dictionary  tells me that GOOD BOOK is a name for the Bible.

NAMES

"THE BOOK OF BOOKS"

“THE BOOK OF BOOKS”

That I can have my name included on the nation’s flag pole informs me the leaflet called:

“WHAT DO WE STAND FOR?”

“Flag Consideration Project.”

“ETCH YOUR NAME IN HISTORY

When you share what you stand for you can also have your name included on our nation’s flag pole, and when New Zealand decides its flag, it will fly there.”

The Bible tells me about the Book of life of the slaughtered lamb in which my name is written ‘from the foundation of the world.’  Please read Revelation 17:8

To win a copy of Love Languages, tell us what your “love language” is.

I love languages, but this is the first time in my life that I hear about Love Languages.

Apparently there are five:

1. words of affirmation,

2. quality time,

3. receiving gifts,

4. acts of service, and

5. physical touch.

Receiving gifts is my “love language”.
