H2O
I really don’t want to tell you about H2O (but I do it anyway!), but I want to tell you about Living Water.
WATER
In the Family Health Diary 2015 I am reading about the importance of drinking H2O. There are several reasons. One of the reasons is that the mucous in our noses keeps germs away. It is in fact a key barrier. Moist mucous is more effective than dry mucous. I have been drinking a bottle of water today. You know now why.
LIVING WATER
In the BIBLE we are reading about the importance of drinking the Living water.
In John 7:37 + 38 the Lord Jesus Christ says: “If any man is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of Living Water will flow from within him.”
The Lord Jesus Christ is the Water of Life.
“WE KNOW drinking plenty of water is important for us,” it says in the Family Health Diary 2015, but do we know that drinking plenty of LIVING WATER is more important than anything else?
MEN’S HEALTH WEEK
men’s health week
8-14 June, 2015
Straight away our spiritual health came to my mind, when I read “take charge of your health,” in the pharmacy flyer, I picked up today.
“What’s your Score?” I am also asked on the front page. Two Pharmacies, Unichem and Life, are offering free blood pressure checks at the present time. If you go to the Pharmacy for a check, you will not only be told the score, but also what it means.
At the same time I picked up also the Family Health Diary Winter 2015. (Men belong to the family!)
“Back to the basics to stay healthy,” I am reading on the front cover of the diary.
And I am still thinking about spiritual health.
WHAT ARE THE BASICS TO STAY HEALTHY SPIRITUALLY?
Let me just mention three:
1. Reading the Bible regularly. Read the Bible like any other book from cover to cover.
2. Praying to the Lord, praising Him and asking Him for help at any time.
3. Telling others what the Lord has done for us.
I certainly don’t want to underestimate physical health, but I think spiritual health is more important, for me anyway.
Take charge of your spiritual health.

THE FOUNDATION
How important a foundation is for our feet, came to me again, while reading the book SOUTH by Ernest Shackleton.
The men were drifting on an ice floe, and I am reading about the longing that filled their hearts. What was the longing? To find solid earth under their feet. I did not think too much about it.
But when I turned the page and read again about their increasing desire, I listened carefully and actually felt with them. What was their increasing desire in any case? It was to get firm ground under their feet.
Why do I feel with them? My heart also longs for a solid footing, and it is a joy to tell you about my solid footing. First Corinthians 3:11 is a Bible verse I know from memory:
“FOR NO ONE CAN LAY ANY FOUNDATION OTHER THAN THE ONE ALREADY LAID, WHICH IS JESUS CHRIST.”
