Message in the Making

THE CROSS

THE CROSS

“‘But for you

Malachi 4:2,3

Intr.:

who revere my name,

  1.  the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings.
  2. And you will go out and leap like calves released from the stall.
  3. Then you will trample down the wicked;
  4. they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day when I do these things,’

End:

says the LORD Almighty.”

What a Promise!

When reading the words:

“‘They say the moment that you’re born is when you start to die,

and the first time that we said hello began our last goodbye.'”

of an old song, the following words from the Bible came to my mind:

“‘EVEN TO YOUR OLD AGE AND GRAY HAIRS I AM HE, I AM HE WHO WILL SUSTAIN YOU. I HAVE MADE YOU AND WILL CARRY YOU; I WILL SUSTAIN YOU AND I WILL RESCUE YOU.'” – Isaiah 46:4

PLASTIC FREE JULY 2016

The Far North Eco Centre is encouraging us to avoid single-use plastic in July. That is this month.

These are the aims of Plastic-Free July.

KAITAIA: Far North Eco Centre

KAITAIA: Far North Eco Centre

Making us aware of:

  1. The amount of single-use disposable plastic in circulation.
  2. Its impact on users.
  3. Its impact on the world.

We are told that every piece of plastic ever produced still remains somewhere on the planet today.

Last Saturday, on July 2, the Far North Eco Centre was at Kaitaia’s morning market offering reusable bags for sale and tips.

FAMILY VIOLENCE

A new approach to tackle family violence is tried in Christchurch / New Zealand and if it works the pilot will be applied nationally. (“Moves to tackle family violence”, Northern Advocate, Saturday, July 2, 2016)

OUR PRAYER: Back to the Bible as a Nation

OUR PRAYER: Back to the Bible as a Nation

Weekly there are about 175 cases of family violence reported in Christchurch. Nationwide there are roughly 66,000 children each year at family violence incidents attended by police.

An inter-agency team in Christchurch will respond and assess each case. The inter-agency team consists of  staff from police, Child Youth and Family, Corrections, the Ministry of Health, NGO’s and Maori service providers.

If the pilot programme works, needs to be seen. But we have seen already what has been working in the past and what is now working, and that is coming back to the BIBLE as individuals and as a nation.
