Jacob Damkani – I hope you know about him – has written a book with the title “WHY ME?” I have the book now in front of me.
I have asked myself also that question and I am continuing to ask myself that question, “WHY ME?”
All I can say is,”Lord, I thank you that you love me!”

Was Pastor W. Busch in einem Andachtsbuch schreibt, wird mir zum grossen Segen. In 1. Mose 39, 2+3 heisst es: “Und der Herr war mit Joseph……Und was er tat, dazu gab der Herr Glueck.”
Der Joseph wurde ins Sklavengefaengnis geworfen und somit war er wieder ganz unten.

W. Busch fragt: “Kennt ihr solche Stunden, wo euch alles zerschlagen ist, alles GLUECK, alle PLAENE, aller BESITZ?” – Natuerlich kennen wir solche Stunden. Vielleicht bist Du sogar jetzt in einer solchen Stunde.
Und dann sagt W. Busch, dass an dieser Stelle der Josephsgeschichte das Wort steht: “Der Herr war mit Joseph.” Die Dunkelheit wird hell. Wilhelm Busch ruft uns noch heute zu: “Das gibt es! Freunde, das gibt es!”
Not long ago I read in one newspaper about the “worst economic conditions in 70 years.” “Recession!”
A very common word today! I found this advertisement in front of the local gym: THE BETA BODY HEALTH AND FITNESS FAMILY.
It talks here about our physical health of course.
But I say, “Don’t let your SPIRITUAL HEALTH go into recession!” If you don’t know what the spiritual life is all about, come to the Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord Jesus Christ says in Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Tell the Lord that you are a sinner and that you are longing to be free from the burden of sin. He will forgive your sin according to His Word . First John 1:9
If you know the Lord as your personal Saviour don’t let your spiritual life, your spiritual health go into recession. Keep in close contact with the Lord by reading His Word and talking to Him in prayer. Make also quite sure to tell others what the Lord has done for you.
Today , while I was sitting on the bench in front of the Warehouse I talked to a man who was standing nearby. Eventually he sat down beside me and we had a very long talk. (His wife did some shopping). Computers were also mentioned and he asked for my name card, which I gladly gave to him. This website and my email are of course on my business card.

Time for a Warrant? You can read a lot today about a Warrant of Fitness.
Most of us know that we are not allowed to drive a car or a motorbike without a Warrant of Fitness. Twice a year we have to take our vehicles to the garage for inspection. But that is not all. Some time ago I read in the paper,”Men need to have an annual Health Warrant of Fitness.” I am coming back to that in a minute.
In front of a jeweller shop I saw this notice, “Time for a Warrant? Come in and get yours now.” I was really surprised to see that notice. The jeweller offered to clean the jewellery for FREE to make it fit for wearing.
I am all for a “Health Warrant of Fitness.” But I understand that it is very difficult to get men to go to the physician. I belong also to the men who don’t like to go for a “Health Warrant of Fitness.” But the health of our body is very important. But our spiritual health is even more important. I have written some time ago a post about a “Spiritual Warrant of Fitness”.

What about our spiritual health? How healthy are YOU spiritually?
That brings me also to another question: How healthy is the CHURCH you are going to?
In the last book of the Bible, in the book of REVELATION, seven churches are mentioned and a lot is said about those seven churches. Read Revelation chapter two and Revelation chapter three.
Revelation 2:1-29 Revelation 3:1-22
The first church mentioned is EPHESUS. It says about Ephesus, ” You have forsaken your first love.” (Revelation 2:4) In the second half of verse two we read, ” I know that you cannot tolerate wicked men, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false.” (Revelation 2:2)
SMYRNA is the second church. Please read especially the verses nine and ten. (Revelation 2:9,10)
PERGAMUM, the next church, is plagued by false teaching, the teaching of Balaam and the teaching of the Nicolaitans. (Revelation 2:12-17)
After Pergamon we hear something about the church in THYATIRA: They are tolerating the teaching of Jezebel. That is not good! (Revelation 2:18-29)
The next church mentioned is SARDES and this is what it says about Sardes, “;….you have the reputation of being alive, but you are dead. Wake up!” (Revelation 3:1,2)
PHILADELPHIA is the second last church. Read what it says in verse nine about that church. (Revelation 3:9)
The last church mentioned is LAODICEA and Laodicea is lukewarm. In verse sixteen we hear the terrible words, ” So, because you are lukewarm – neither hot nor cold – I am about to spit you out of my mouth.” Listen, how the seventeenth verse starts, “You say,’I am RICH;…'” (Revelation 3:16,17)
What about the spiritual health of the CHURCH you are going to?

I don’t know why I crossed over the road this time to look a little bit closer at the posters in the Paper Plus shop windows. But I am glad I did. One poster took my full attention at once. I was very much interested in what I read. At the bottom of the poster it said, “Best Summer reads.” A “free book” was advertised at the top of the poster. But what was written in the middle really grabbed me, “Plus A must read book…” was written there.
“A MUST READ BOOK.”
I know only one “must read book” and that is the Bible, the Word of the Living God.
Many times I have said something about my personal encounter with the Bible.
Once upon a time the Bible was for me like any other book – until I encountered the Living God. From that moment on the Bible became alive for me, because I knew the author of the Bible, the Holy Spirit.
THE BIBLE is the book everybody must read! The Bible is the must read book.
The Bible is the supreme book!
It is the WORD of God. Second Timothy 3:16, Second Peter 1:21. Men turn to the Bible in the hour of TRAGEDY and DEATH. The Bible has the answers to the questions of LIFE and DEATH.
“Best Summer reads” are advertised on the poster. The BIBLE, the Living Word of God, is the BEST READ for every day of the year.
Psalm 119:105 ” Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.”
PS: The BIBLE is the best seller of all time!
