I read today, “Always use tasteful words you never know when you’ll have to eat them”.

” SUCCESS seems to be largely a matter of hanging on after others have let go”, I read today in a publication.
It was raining and I dived into the library, where I saw the very interesting flyer with pictures advertising The New Zealand Book Month 2008 – September.
Very good pictures, I thought.
There was a person sitting at a table in front of piled up books ready to devour them. You could only see the shoulders, arms and hands. The right fist was hanging on to the knife and the left fist to the fork. Near the right fist was a glass of wine.
Another picture showed a beautiful toaster toasting a book.
The writing on the pamphlet fascinated me also, ” Check out these succulent samples of winning New Zealand writing, sure to satisfy your appetite”. “Kiwi taste sensations”. “Savour New Zealand’s Top 75 Books of the year”. “Top 25 tasty bites”. “Top 25 meaty meals”. “Top 25 on the kids menu”. All about eating!
A good many people are famliar with the story in Matthew 4, the temptation of the Lord Jesus Christ. They remember of course straight away the Words of our Lord, “MAN DOES NOT LIVE ON BREAD ALONE, BUT ON EVERY WORD THAT COMES FROM THE MOUTH OF GOD”. Matthew 4:4
Our Lord is quoting from Deuteronomy 8:3. – Old Testament.
I say it again: BUT THE BIBLE IS REAL FOOD!
Although the Chatham Islands belong to New Zealand, you don’t hear very much about them even in NZ. The other day I saw some pictures of the Chatham Islands in a magazine. I was especially interested in the captions of the pics. Apparently pig hunting is really good there and one pic had the caption “Dave, the boar and the wonderful wilderness”. Notice the word “wonderful”. Another pic had the caption “(happily) on the road to nowhere…” Do you see the word in brackets? Yes, you do! Good!
When I looked at the pictures these thoughts came to my mind:
And I don’t think I am wrong in saying that for most people the whole world is a “wilderness”, not only the Chatham Islands. And I dare also to say that they are on “the road to nowhere…..” They don’t even think the “wilderness” is wonderful and they are surely not happy on “the road to nowhere…”
But there is a road out of the wilderness. The road out of the wilderness is the LORD JESUS CHRSIST. He says so himself in the Bible, the Word of the Living God.
I asked for a $20 top up for my mobile phone and paid $20, but I was given a $30 top up. There was only one thing to do to go back and put the mistake right.
In the near future I am intending to go back to the shop with some tracts to tell them the reason for my honesty.
The TRUTH is that $20 are not $30. There is a $10 difference.
The Lord Jesus Christ says about himself, that he is the TRUTH. John 14:6
I looked also up some verses in the Bible about honesty:
Romans 12:17 (The Amplified Bible) “take thought for what is honest”
Hebrews 13:18 (The Amplified Bible) “… and in complete honesty in all things.”
As mentioned before, I start on the first of January each year at the beginning of the Bible and I try at least to read through the Bible once a year.
I finished reading through the NIV today, reading every word! – 10th of November 2008

Computer Problems? Yes!! And Yes again!
BUT – it was really good today to wrap special foam stuff around the computer, make some kind of a card board box for the ‘troublemaker’ and finally imprison all the ‘worries’ with strong string – AND SEND THE WHOLE LOT OFF TO AN AUCKLAND ADDRESS TO A PERSON WHO KNOWS ALL ABOUT COMPUTERS AND A PERSON I CAN TRUST. ( I am not telling you his name.)
Should we not do the same with ALL our cares, worries and anxieties? Put them all in one big sack and send them off to the person who knows all about us and the person we can trust? Psalm139, the whole Psalm. ( Psalm 139:1-24)
I think so! Read in the Bible First Peter 5:7 “CAST ALL YOUR ANXIETIES ON HIM BECAUSE HE CARES FOR YOU!”
THE FUTURE AGAIN! – BUT THIS TIME A LITTLE BIT DIFFERENT!
A couple of days ago I entered the local book shop and on the right side there was sort of a little book stand. Books where advertised there, special books.
At the top of the stand was written, “Plan your Future today with America’s most accurate Astrologers Team.” I counted twelve books on the shelves. On each book it said, “The World’s leading Astrologers Team.” And then the names of the Team. It carried on, “Your Personal Astrology Planner 2009.” The whole thing started with “ARIES.”
Just let me say this:
YES, I AM INTERESTED IN THE FUTURE AND I REJOICE THAT THE LIVING GOD HAS PLANNED MY FUTURE AND I AM GLAD, THAT I CAN READ ABOUT THE FUTURE IN THE BIBLE, THE WORD OF THE LIVING GOD!
