“Conquering the World– Every Day”

I went with my wife to a Postie plus Shop in Auckland when I saw those big posters hanging from the ceiling. My wife gave me a pen to write and I found a piece of paper and wrote down what was written on some of the posters; but because of my bad hand writing I cannot read one. Never mind! One said “Dressing Up — Every Day”, another “Be Beautiful — Every Day”, the next one was “Hanging Out — Every Day”; but one really caught my attention because it said ” Conquering the world — Every Day!”
Yes, as Christians we must conquer the world every day.

We are not commanded to discover the world as a travel brochure says. I am looking at a travel brochure which says that we should discover the world in style. It is the brochure from APT World Discoveries.

Another thing is also important. We should not have the world in our house. Many years ago in Germany a leader of the Brethren told me the following story and I am telling it as good as I can remember. One member of the congregation bought a new TV. When he had the box at home still unopened he saw the writing on the box ‘The world in your home!’ That was enough for him to give the box back including contents.

But how do we conquer the WORLD — Every Day?

Let us see what the apostle James says in the Bible, the word of the Living God. In his letter in James 4:4 we read: Click on the verse! Also James 1:27. The apostle John says the same: Click on First John 2:15-117!

FUTURE (24.02.08)

Last Sunday I noticed a campervan with “FUTURE” written on it twice on the church parking lot. We had visitors and I talked to the man.

Today in Church we sang the song:”Because He lives I can face tomorrow” by Bill Gaither. The chorus says:” Because he lives I can face tomorrow; because he lives all fear is gone; because I know he holds the future, and life is worth the living just because he lives.”

Yes, Christians can face TOMORROW because the Lord Jesus Christ lives. Yes, Christians do have a glorious FUTURE because they know who is holding it.
